No kidding, just read that too.
How about Astana IF Contador will decide to leave?
How about Wiggins to Sky and Evans to Garmin?
Columbia-HTM got the cash to sign him up probably too.
We shall see very soon.

Wiggins-Sky was my exact first thought.
Columbia has already put their faith into Tony Martin.
BMC seems like a good choice, IMO.

BMC holding the current and previous two world champions?... that should lock up all the race invites they would want. It would also give them a good GC candidate - they very well may have one that I'm not thinking of, but off the top of my head I don't recall any big GC names on their squad
If BMC, I see the Cadel.to.Garmin & Wiggins.to.Sky deal going down pretty quickly.

Columbia seemed resigned to going for stage wins, with Contador acknowledged to be the GC giant for the next few years. I don't think they'd want a guy who gets second a lot and who isn't getting younger.
I think Garmin works. Strong team, need to move up one more step. Probably better infrastructure and support too. Willing to bet on older riders.
Sky? Maybe, maybe cheaper than buying out Wiggins.
BMC? Another team with experienced riders. Quick Step (they've expressed interest in Contador too), don't know enough about them.
I think Cervelo isn't rich enough.
What about Astana? If Contador leaves, he leaves a team that has some reasonable support riders (Zubeldia, David de la Fuente?). But that would be like sticking a sword in your stomach, me thinks.
Interesting.

Now maybe he can get with a team that can give him more righteous support.

My guess is that until the Contador situation is settled Evans will have to wait. If Garmin has a shot at AC they will wait till that has been settled one way or another before signing Evans.

Contador and Evans up for grabs? That's kind of like Arod and Pujols both being free agents, only with hundreds of millions of dollars less on the table. But when is the last time when the two strongest potential Tour de France G.C. talent were free agents at the same time? That should make the 2010 BF Hot Stove League more spicy.

You know what I mean. The top TdF contender and a guy who has finished 2nd a couple of times in the last 3 years is the strongest TdF GC talent pool you're ever going to see on the market at the same time.

Does having both on the market together bring their price down?

No one is though.
Cadel, while somewhat of a wanker, has proved he has the chops to win the TdF given the right team support. The fact that he's done as well as he has while on Silence speaks to how good he is.

Although maybe true, he has also failed to allow that same potential/chops show in other races as he has won practically nothing in the last few years.

That attack at the end of the World Championship RR was OUTstanding. Great moment for Cadel. Sure, he's a bit of a wanker, but it's hard not to admire anybody that rides that good with guts like he does at times. He's tough, he deserves a better chance @ the TdF with a better team.

maybe not sky, Shane Sutton is there and Scott Sunderland as head staff along with lots of young Aussies. You'd think he would fit in, but I'm not sure they would. Weird hey?

I would like to see him at Garmin. I like to see the American teams remain predominately English speaking (as if it affects me in any way) and Cadel fits there better than AC.

Hey, how about Astana holds Contador to his existing contract, and hires Cadel to be his beyatch-ski.
