I guess a lot of you know of my stroke of luck finding a 720 that fits me perfectly. When it's all pretty again, I WILL be posting it here. It won't be VERY different, but that ridiculous saddle will be gone, fresh wrap, etc.,,,,BD

Lucky FB Marketplace find.
Update: I emailed Trek, and they did confirm it was a 170 team bike, but sadly they don’t have records of who it was made for like I was hoping.
I was cruising FB Marketplace and saw a fuzzy, distant picture of what looked like an old Trek for $50. It looked like possible Campy parts, so I rushed to the seller and was surprised to see Reynolds 753 stickers and a weird mish-mash of Campy parts. From the Vintage Trek website, the serial number seems to indicate it’s a 1985 team bike. Here are photos of the bare frame. There is an interesting script letter K on the BB shell.

Frame looks larger than 20.5" to my untrained eye. Serial number look-up on vintage-trek.com might shed some light.

The Good: Got a good deal on a Trek 510 in my size with a full campy group (less a front wheel)!
The Bad: It's Campy Nuovo Gran sport
The Ugly:
The Gran sport group will sell for what I paid for the bike, so the frame is free anyway. May do some light riding on it anyway, or maybe repair someday?
Anyway, I got a free Avocet racing saddle and Cinelli cockpit out of it!

But I also wouldn't have bought the bike if it was the Día Compe/Suntour Vx groupset, unless it were quite a bit cheaper.

I keep checking the fork, and while it would be hard at this stage to see if the fork blades are aligned (they look right to me) I can't see any damage on it. I'm wondering about pulling the crown race to see if the steerer has separated at all, but I don't feel any flex in it either.
It was obviously a bad enough crash to ruin the front wheel, since it's the only thing missing in an entire (and quite pristine) groupset), so I'd be quite surprised if I didn't eventually find some damage to the fork, but nothing's apparent to me yet.

My first Trek. Nothing great but should be a fun rider.
Wheels in amazing shape. The rear is Mavic MA40 on a Shimano sealed bearing hub. The front is an MA2 rim on a King Kong KK hub.
