Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Just doesn’t come with a dropper, not sure how much that would be to add it.

You think Lily would understand why we can’t go on a 10’year wedding anniversary vacation?
She wants you to be happy, right?

LaJ. Big John. Just wanted to thank you both for the advice with the car/brakes. I swapped in the new rotors last night. The patient is doing well and resting comfortably ATM. Was like a new car on the way to work this morning. No shaking, no vibrations...just awesome.
But now the weird part. Rock auto sent me the new pads, sbc 1947, they are completely wrong. I called Advance auto parts. They are supplying the same part as rock auto. So is Auto Works. I've never seen this before. So I had to scuff and clean the old pads and use them again. They were at %50 or so. It just never ends..m

Right? I can't believe I mis-remembered that from years ago. Now I have to try and find something to confirm I was right and the people I read this morning were wrong.

First thing this morning I wake up to find Neil diamonds “I am, I said“ stuck in my head. Then I discover I don’t have a copy, so I have Alexa play it for me, and for the first time ever I listen closely to the lyrics and come to realize that the song is parroting a part of my youth. Back then, fresh out of college, I had a choice of accompanying my fiancé out to LA for her residency or staying in NY to pursue my own graduate goals.

Makes me wonder how my life would have been out there, maybe better, maybe worse.

Yeah, probably worse, if I recall she didn’t cook much.

RE: Hotels. We like to stay at the Starr Pass JW Marriot when visiting Tucson for El Tour. The grounds are absolutely stunning - nestled into a saguaro forest in the hills west of town. Tucson is a nice place, but last time we barely ventured into town outside of the ride, and some family that we visited on our way in to town.

Before anyone comments - I know my photo skills suck

Good morning from the Tucson mountains

Wild javelinas walking the grounds in the morning

Out on a walk

Tough break w the travelling gig. Within my work (scientific instrumentation - mass spec), recruiters from the bigger companies have tried to hunt me for Field Engineer or Field Applications (<-- more fun/pay), but I'm not into the travel , Would come with a bump up in pay too. But I like my work, my team, my boss so there is a big QOL draw for me to stay. Plus, my commute is a 10 min ride or 20 min walk.

I was supposed to end up in Minnie and ride with Whyfi. Someone saw that would make me happy so switched it to this BS.

I picked up my Fox Transfer SL dropper off Pinkbike buy/sell for $200. New condition. YMMV.

I would suggest that putting bikes before keeping your wife happy is not a wise choice.

Did reasonably well today on my segment ride. Lacked the "omf" but RPE wasn't too high so w/e. Finished it with another 15' with the A bot, most of that solo OTF

How about a nice 90 day supply of HTFU? Seriously, over the counter stuff (acetaminophen (safest), ibuprofen, naproxen) should be adequate, and wouldn't you have to tell the FAA about anything stronger? Plus, I don't have a DEA number.
