54~55?

I love the Univega touring bikes, they are as well built as anything else out there if not better. You have to step up to a Miyata 1000, Trek 720, or Specialized Expedition to find a similar triple butted frame. As a matter of fact this guy was probably put together by the same hands that were making the Miyata 1000.

And even then you might lose some features like a second set of eyelets on the 720 or less bottle cages on the 720 or expedition depending on the year. I’m willing to bet this has a bit more clearance than the 720 as well.

Is this black or a really dark burgundy??

Shipping

Hi. Is the bike still availble? Would you ship this dismanteled in a bike parcel?

Here's a link to the '85 & '86 Univega catalogs. https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-v...-catalogs.html
It says it came in sizes 47, 50, 53, 56. 59 & 62. I would guess this is a 56, probably center to top.

Beautiful bike!

It's in much better shape than most bikes of its era. Once in a while at one of the nonprofits we'll get a bike from this era in with original componentry, but often with scratches and wear from riding, moves, storage, or being piled in a big semi-trailer with hundreds of other donated bikes.

Hope someone appreciates this one. Univegas were always well-speced for their price point.

That is a beauty, and a good price too. However, it has a major flaw...it's the wrong size!!!!!

Lovely bike for a great price. Full on tourer, hybrid, gravel, half-step and granny. I'd want that in my size.

I'm sure the OP will be along soon as they are a regular poster here, but I'm willing to bet the answer is yes. Unless stated otherwise in the post, packing and shipping is the norm here.

The only way I would ship it is if you would pay for my local bike shop to pack it and then the cost to ship

Might want to update your OP with this info, otherwise we generally assume the seller is willing to pack and ship.

I was wondering why this looked so familiar, I think I must have seen your listing on Facebook or Craigslist.
Edit: scratch that, I was thinking of a different, nearly identical bike in Pittsburgh

Just curious, does this bike use 700c or 27" wheels?
