Trash Panda Werks Presents Vickie the Mixtie!!!
Mixed in with the post here about the Jackson in Pasadena and the post on Facistbook about looking for a Mixtie a gentleman in 'Sconsin offered to send me this shop worn but apparently never sold Shogun Mixtie. She isn' exactly what I wanted but 22' C 2 T and free how can I complain?
She's been cleaned and waxed and BB installed, BTW who designed these BBs? Is he the guy that designs cars that you need to remove the intake manifold to change the sparkplugs? OH anyway, my current plan is to put my Shipmano Alfine '8spd IGH wheels on here and turn her into a MUP runner, and hopefully use her after work a few nights a week on different paths on my way home.

The Trash Panda crews are working briskly and being lazy even faster but they managed to harvest the wheels and shifter from the donor bike. She'll be for sale soon.
The fabulous Shipmano Nexus 8spd wheels with Salsa Delgado rims are on Vickie, along with the cranks.
Shipmano 700CX hybrid crank that I forget when I have. Is a 52T too big for a 8spd IGH? I havent ridden these wheels in years but I seem to recall the 48t spinning out a lot.

really on Sunday? The elusive Susie, we've been meaning to have a "sit down" with her but we can never find her, has brought in cake because it's nation Confectioner's SUgar day or some nonsense.
I really wanted to use these but either I aint cleaver enuff or they are broken and severly misaligned. OY!
I think I've tried these on 4 different bikes now.
Things are continuing but we are running into delays where we need to wait for some supplies. Looks like we need a half link, which will likely then be an issue if we don't like the 52x19 setup. Although the first thing may be to simply switch to the 21

I am astounded at how well your raccoon is trained. The discipline it took for her to not eat the cake is admirable.
My breathing became shallow when I saw your ironing board. I have never ironed anything in my life. The average person spends 84 hours a year ironing according to the 'experts' -- for what it's worth -- so I feel like I'm adding nearly a week/per year to my life by not ironing anything. This makes my somewhat rumpled, disheveled appearance more than worth it to me.
Lastly, you spelled Facebook wrong -- the correct spelling is Fascistbook. A minor quibble for sure, but worth noting.

Well it was a bit of a struggle and we had a real puzzle here at Trash Panda Werks but we seem to have found a solution.
First of all......here's........ Vickie!!!!
It's been a minute since we had to adjust a IGH "cassette" but we got the cable set up and found a short very information video to check our work. Of it we had it spot on!
We owe Mad Honk a huge THANK You for sending extras which included a two more housing stop clamps. The fabulous campanutella was much appreciated but, it routed the cable over the BB shell and the "cassette" needs a cable that runs under. The soulution was to change to the housing stop clamp, inverted, and run a piece of housing from the bottom of the DT to the cassette. I didn't a long enough scrap of Celeste for this, but I think the black is more discrete.
I'm not sure what these levers were on, maybe the '88 Torfeo I had for a while, but they had Celeste cables when I got them out of the "brake lever" box so it was perfect fit.
I hate that my pics get jumbled when I add them to the album, is that because I delete pics from my phone so maybe the file number is reused on the phone or something? But anyway there's more photos there.

Beautiful! I'm not familiar with all the Shogun mixtes, but I have seen some that are full chromo, is this one? And the fork too?
My daily is a Miyata mixte with a 1969 Sturmey 5 speed in the back, 53 tooth ring, 24 tooth cog, my 3rd gear is direct drive, that with the 53/24 combo puts me comfortably at 16-17 mph.
This is an older pic, with a coaster brake 3 speed
And out for a longer rider earlier this winter,
My daily is a Miyata mixte with a 1969 Sturmey 5 speed in the back, 53 tooth ring, 24 tooth cog, my 3rd gear is direct drive, that with the 53/24 combo puts me comfortably at 16-17 mph.
This is an older pic, with a coaster brake 3 speed
And out for a longer rider earlier this winter,

Vickie looks to be coming along nicely. I’ve been looking at mixtes, as stated above, most are too small, 51cm and smaller. There was a titanium mixte for sale last year, eBay, if it was 53cm, I likely would have been bidding. Can’t remember what it sold for.
There is a pretty nice looking Dawes, 53cm I think, on eBay, now $350 plus ship, obo. While I am not fixated on weight, most mixte framesets come on the heavy side.

So whilst I was not correctly attired and the tempature is still a chilly 50d, I just couldn't resist the sunshine to take a quick lap around the parking lot. She needs a few adjustments and definitely new brake pads, but the fit is pretty good and she handles very well. Can't wait to really take her for a ride
