Cinelli Milano Handlebars with 3ttt Italy Stem FAST FREE SHIPPING
-Description below
-Reach 120mm, width 37cm (figured out with kind help from SurferRosa), plus stem is stamped "120" which helps
-Handlebar grip is stamped "65"
-Stem has old logo with "Italy" written. Possibly from '70's old road racing bike
-I suspect this black stem bolt is not the same as the desirable/rare one described by scarlson in my last thread. I tried to show in the photos that it is actually metal with a bit of black around the top
-Several scrapes, scratches, and marks of age and use as shown in photos

That stem shows recalcitrance of removal.
the quill bolt is probably Arnold Industries .
the issue is that the stem is probably only safe for the bolt. Those bars are 26.4, the stem is designed for 26.0

You can remove the bar clamp bolt, open up the stem, remove the bars and they will probably be OK.
sell the bolts and bars a la carte

To Administrators: I am canceling all my sales because clearly I am in over my head here. I would completely cancel my membership, but your website does not seem to offer any way to do this. If you can cancel my membership from your end please do so. In one single day I have managed to disappoint or anger 4 members with parts I sent them or listings I posted. They were completely justified in doing so, but in my defense I was never trying to deceive anyone. I do not know nearly enough about bike parts to deceive anyone. I have issued refunds to some and sent parts free of charge to others to make up for my mistakes. Just about everyone on this forum has been kind and helpful, and I am definitely not complaining about anyone. Any future messages will not be answered. I need to step away from this.

Nancy,
I've not been following all of your listings in the for-sale section but just looked at the Cinelli-3TTT bar-stem listing.
I'm so sorry you've reached the decision to leave C&V and BF. The very few mistakes you've made are minor and not unusual for a new member. You always received guidance with grace and understanding. You can hold your head high.
Yes, a few of our BFers can be real jerks and act as if they are dealing with some shyster on ebay trying to rip them off, but most of us just want to be helpful. You are definitely not someone who is trying to defraud. Please reconsider your decision. I for one was glad you joined and were working hard to pass along the collection your brother-in-law acquired to fellow C&V fans.
BTW, that's an awesome photo of John!

Selling stuff like this can be difficult even for a seller that knows all the component details. You should be applauded for taking the time to share some great stuff with folks that really appreciate it. I do hope you reconsider...

I echo the points above. My only disappointment is not being first in line to grab any of your listings! I would have paid your asking just for the bolt and bars, and written the stem off! Your sales are priced commensurately with whatever trouble might arise as a result of not knowing about the parts.

@NancyBeth I hope you reconsider. Yes, there can be issues in selling something that you really do not have the detailed knowledge of, but at the same time, if you look back at most of the interactions that were posted, I believe the bulk of the people were trying to help as opposed to trying to make things more difficult or were mad. Yes, some people on the forum can be grumpy, please don't let the minority ruin your day. I don't know if there are parts you still have that you want to sell, if so, there is another subforum to get appraisals on C&V bikes/parts. If there are things that you are not sure of, posting there will generally get a lot of responses from those with expertise that are will to help you out in understanding what you have.
I put this in my note to you before, but I'll repeat it here. I think what you are doing to help your brother-in-law's estate is commendable. It's a lot of work and I hope they appreciate it.

Nancy, another who is sad at your departure. Yes, I too was skeptical of your early offerings but quickly saw that you were trying to do good work, both in honor of the fellow who accumulated all this great stuff and we who are interested in it. I hope you change your mind and that a few of us step and gently remind our fellows here on the forum to be gentle.

Our loss.
Nancy Beth, just put them on ebay where they will sell without drama or cutting commentary.

How is that going to work out for her when she lists something as "in good, used condition," but it's unusable, broken in two places? Or where she says a hubset is "absolutely brand new," when it's obviously been built up into wheels? Unlike the fine folks here, eBay buyers are not going to be as gentle, understanding, and kind.

Urgh, yeah, agree about ebay. There, the policies are slanted deeply in favor of the buyer. Here, I feel, we are pretty reasonable, and again the prices were reasonable so it seems no harm was done in any case.
I just hope whatever remaining parts belonging to the late gentleman don't end up in a landfill!!

I will miss her here but this was another case of self inflicted damage by forum members themselves. I guess she had just had enough of our whining and moaning about not getting new parts at a huge discount. I am currently sending parts to a chrome plating shop to restore them, and the costs will more than double when they get back. And I will get a ton of blow back from our members, but it is the cost of doing restorations correctly. If she is gone, we brought this upon ourselves. No Smiles, MH
