Sorry couldn't help myself. Too many years working with high-vac systems. @gugie and I have spent some time talking about troubleshooting problems related to this, everyone else left the room, not sure why.

Shouldn't be a problem with a turbo pump, no major chamber leakage points, outgassing parts or virtual leaks.

edit: just reread this, I thought that was the spec. What's the spec?

ion pumps are kinda old school, but that might be what she has to work with. As SwimmerMike noted, a cryo-pump is how it's done nowadays. One warning, lead times on these are really long, but you can find them on eBay now and then.

ok that was just rough , with a turbo pump

next is nitrogen purge and then use ion pump

this is interesting and as in many C&V threads ping pongs on topics

I'm back in Bloomington and just now at the computer. So for more of our regularly scheduled content:
