Pulled from a vintage Bianchi. No wonder the crankset didn't turn. Amazingly the stem and seat post were not stuck.

And that, children, is why we're not allowed to use a pressure washer on our bikes.

Actually it's like the "before" in one of those fake restoration videos on YouTube.

Have you tried a phosphoric acid bath?

Looks like the bottom bracket off my Marketplace schwinn that I bought dirt cheap. It had been stored outside.

No surprise.

Bottom brackets are the U-traps of bikes. Water splashes up from the rear wheel, enters at the searpost, then runs down and collects there.

Yikes! Just what I needed to see as I wait for TA bottom bracket tools to arrive so I can service my 1975 Motobecane after a 45 year interval! (at least it has always been stored indoors)

Working at a volunteer shop I have seen some nasty bottom brackets over the years but that takes the prize, Hopefully you were able to get the fixed cup out as well.
I don't think I would even clean it up and reuse it, just replace it from on of our "recovered spares" stock. I would clean it enough to see the numbers but that would be it.
Clean all the threads well on the shell before reassembly and grease them.

If pictures of great bikes are "bike porn", then your picture is of bike BDSM. Ugly!

That would only apply if it were intentional.

"Sure."

That's tragic.
