For tight cornered crits, I will concede that. The local crits around here are on an oval office park course that really don't have significant tight corners, so for that I would still pick aero over weight, although of course the differences are so modest I don't know if it will matter much.

Is the gauge staying on the peg or is it just running colder than normal? Make sure the radiator is full, let it warm up and see if the radiator is hot. If you have an infra-red thermometer you can tell if the 'stat is working. Could also be a gauge or sensor problem. I think the early 90s Saturn has the sensor which gets corroded. If the gauge is stuck on the cold peg have someone watch the gauge while you wiggle the connector and tap on the sensor with a metal tool. It doesn't have to be running to do this, just warmed up with key on.
If the 'stat is stuck open but you are still getting cabin heat you can live with it. My Trailblazer was doing that thing where it warms up but then starts getting colder because the 'stat closes overnight but then sticks open after it warms up and I could watch the gauge drop. I finally put a new thermostat in when I retired, (it's a pain on that car, have to take the wheel off and go through the inner fender), and it was fine for 3 years. Now it's doing it again.
I know I get long-winded on these car posts but it's mostly me thinking "out loud". I am happy to try to help with car stuff when it's in my field.

Could be stuck open, it's a common problem on later GM cars but will turn on the check engine light after about 1996.

I am so glad my commuting to work days are over, back when I clocked 800 miles/week and my car was constantly in that "what's next" state of existence for 21 years. If not for my uncle Pete the mechanic, who always gave me the family discounted price for car work, I could have never made it through all the commuting repairs . . . brake pads, rotors, alternators, water pumps, radiators, two engine replacements. A regular mechanic would have cost a fortune. Ol' Pete was truly heaven sent.

in addition to reduced cabin/interior heat - running with an open thermostat can also lead to other issues ... long term ...
engine / motor oil does not get up to proper operating temp during short drives ...
unburnt fuel / etc (created during 'rich' start-up) does not get 'consumed' (for lack of better terminology) ... motor oil can then can become more contaminated ... lubrication degraded ... sludge can form ...
etc etc etc

So, this appeared in my email this morning....
Did they think I didn't notice when the nice young pharmacist lady jabbed me? Did they think I woke up and said, "What the ****? Why do my arms hurt?"

24hrs post vax and still feeling fine. Hopefully still fine tomorrow, though it's possible my ride will get rained out. There's even talk of thunderstorms. But the tires on my bike are rubber, so I should be fine, right?

A base layer would have been a bad idea, though it's on the chilly side when not working hard. It was the Novara jersey today; not nearly as comfy as the gore wear, though a better fit.

I was very careful. Plus, my friend is ok with me poking fun at his car. I joke that he cannot afford a Saturn.

I wonder what my C4S would look like with a bike on top of it. Not enough to actually try it though I do have the cross bars boxed away somewhere. My wife thinks we should take it skiing but doesn’t understand that Pilot Sport Cups are not snow friendly tires. Not to mention a car seat won’t fit in the back.
