What is your favorite sub USB $50 rechargeable tail light for day time riding? Currently I have a Lezyne Zecto Drive Silver Rear LED Tail Light
I wanted to know if there is something you use that would be better, brighter? I generally ride for 1-3 hours at a time.
Thanks,
RH

Knog Blinder. I have the 4V model which they don't make anymore but can be found on eBay. The new models are the MOB and the R70. Great lights and stylish.

The latest version of the Serfas Thunderbolt is right at $50. Very bright. USB rechargeable. Claims 3.5 hours on high flash.

Bontrager Flare-R. Supposedly visible up to a mile away in its brightest blinky mode. Don't recall, but it may have been a little over $50 when I bought it.

Flyin' under the radar
FYI, the LEDs are canted to compensate for seat tube angle. In other words, the lights don't shine down, they shine directly backward into driver's eyes. I initially discounted the Knog because I thought the LEDs shone downward.

agreed with this. super bright - also has a mere 5 lumen mode for night group rides. easy to use, good battery time, easy mount to swap bikes. Definitely gets my recommendation

I've also heard great things about the Bontrager Flare. The poor quality of other Bontrager products I have owned over the years makes me skeptical of anything they make.

Farmer tan
WF-501A red flashlight ($10 on ebay) and 18500 lithium cell (vaping battery).
Mounted on your left drop, it casts light behind you and causes cars to pass even wider left.
It's nice to be able to conveniently switch it on/off as needed, and it's obvious when it's dead (as opposed to rear-mounted lights you cannot tell if they're on while you're riding).
Rechargeable (18500 cell is in 3rd slot):

I tried a couple & found them lame.
Blackburn Click blinkie is plenty bright, & the coin cell battery can last all year.
What's good about a light that might give out before the end of the ride?

Lezyne Strip Drive Pro - 100 lumens. Found one at a bike shop for $35. Mounting strap is meh, but the light is damn bright!

In "day flash" it gets 5 hours of run time, but only 1 hr 40 in "blast" mode, whatever that is. I'm really beginning to dislike all these bright red blinkies that are rechargeable; I can easily carry spare batteries, but am screwed when the internal battery dies.
