I rolled up on a guy yesterday. He was wearing a CA State Champion jersey.
I asked him, "In what event did you win that jersey?"
He replied, "Um, not sure. What's the date on the jersey?"
Me: "2015".
Him: "Then I think it was cyclocross".
The dude has too many state champion jerseys to keep track of. Big Dog problems.

I had thought about doing Masters (35+) nationals last year, and my coach encouraged it, but it was too close to Lilly's due date. Plus, it was in Georgia or something in severe heat and humidity. I had kick ass legs, but I do not do well in heat.

I got an email from Canyon today. There's a new colorway for the Aeroad. Completely different from what anyone else is doing - very dark gray with black graphics. Boy, nobody has anything like THAT!!! It would totally stand out in group rides! 
What got me, though, was they say you can finance it! As low as 0.00%! Gosh! I hope I manage, for the rest of my days, to avoid buying any bike so expensive that I can't just cough up all the money up front. But hey, that's me.

Maybe I should go to jazz night too. I've been living here for months and still haven't gone even though it's just a half mile walk from home.
It's been tough for me to get excited about it cuz Jazz nights in Portland were so good. Mel Brown would have a show at least every other week in the 90s. Google search shows hes still going strong, with a show on the 24th. BITD they were $5, entry is $20 nowadays.

My friend who crashed sent his S-works SL8 to a place that apparently does ultrasound analysis on crashed crabon frames to test their integrity. Apparently his frame is fine but fork must be replaced. My other friend who is helping with this tells me sourcing a new fork from Specialized is very difficult and may end up costing almost as much and a new frame plus fork.
This does not sound right to me, but it’s not my bike and my friend with the damaged fork has plenty of resources to get this resolved.

I replaced my Domane fork, and it only cost $350 for the part with perhaps another $100 for the removal and installation.

I arrived a little early and parked outside the farm. Later, one of the workers came to me and suggested that I move my car inside the gate because a peacock was pecking it. For some reason, they don’t peck cars inside the facility. Maybe ones parked outside are seen as threats.

Did a cacciatore-style simple sauce tonight. Chicken in first till mostly done, then out to a plate. Onions in the fond. Crank the heat and deglaze w some wine, before canned tomato sauce and a little broth. Reducing it down a bit then I'll finish the chicken in it shortly. Pasta, IDK whatever is in the cupboard. I like tube noodles (penne, rigatoni etc), Liz likes long noodles. This may be a coin toss. Served with a nice glass of Chianti of course.

Just went on ride number 2 today. Wife approved me to go on a group ride. Hammer fest, a lot of pent up energy since I cant race this weekend. Went all out, attacked a lot, did a lot of lead outs to sprint for my Bike shop bud. It was fun just to let it all out. Means tomorrow will prolly be just an hour recovery ride. My legs are beat.
Today’s ride resulted in my FTP being raised by 16 points. So my official number is kind of what I already thought it was.

My work alarm sure was early this morning. Thankfully it will be a short week.
Overall it was a fantastic trip. All the work I did on our new-to-us car held and it gave us no issues over the ±1500 miles.
