Trailers?

Hey all,

Anybody know of a trailer with a hitch that will fit the rear axle of ebikes. Most ebikes have a wider axle and nut than conventional bikes. The axle mounts I run into are not wide enough. (typical rear Bafang style axle)

I don't know much about bike trailers but want to learn. I have an old child carrier trailer but it was an economy model that clamps on the frame. Not exactly elegant. Please teach us about trailers if you have experience. Be Well, Bluesfrog.

Don't know much but have heard that BOB's, which attach to the rear axle, are great (bobgear.com). What kind of rear axle do you have?

It's my wife's Electra Townie Go 7d.. It has an over-sized axle shaft and nut. 18mm head. and I think it's a 12mm shaft.
I have a Specialized Vado with a thru-axle. We want to take the dog with us.

Check Robert's axle project for one, I bought one from them when I had to modify my kid's trailer from frame clamp to axle bolt due to changing to a bike with thru axle and disc brakes.

My old 520 has a through axle but rim brakes. It has lots of miles on it but so do I. I just don't like the trailer's attachment system and its habit of moving on the frame. Not a very solid arrangement. I was thinking of setting up something that could be used on both the Trek 520 and the Verve. Be Well, Bluesfrog.

Check out Burley. They offer a variety of hitches as well as adapters for different setups, including for various width thru axles.
