Silverock Minivelo commuter

Here is my new commuter I’ve gotten built.

From an esthetic perspective, the less accessories would be better but I need a rack to carry my French baguette. The mud guards for when it rains. The sprung saddle for my derrière on the Montreal potholes. It’s an urban vehicle. The Shimano Alfine 8 IGH makes it a relatively slower but effective bike. Hence the 2,15x20 Big Apple tires. The front hub is a Velo Orange with 24 mm Alex rims. Note the alternating finish of the spacers on the head tube. The LBS thought it would be nice. I agree.

My Dahon Smooth hound is my fast bike.

This is my first bike with disk brake. The stopping power is very noticeable even if they are mechanical. For me and urban use, hydraulic brakes wouldn’t be needed.

BTW the Steel frame is really nice, welds and paint are excellent.

Minivelos seem fun. I’m probably going to get an Origami Swift to keep in the RV

I saved a photo of your build, I want to do something similar to my mother with a front basket. Thank you
