Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I've tried on PROs and loved them, but $130 for shorts?
You know, at first I though the same thing. The major difference on my ride Sunday (a hard 40+ miles) was not that they were necessarily more comfortable in the seat of the shorts - I noticed no real difference in the saddle comfort/padding department. It was more that the material wicked away so much more sweat that they never felt damp and I never had the issue of my ass sliding around in them. I really can't describe it, but the attack shorts feel a lot more like how cotton shorts get clingy when they get sweat soaked and these just stay put. I have not tried the pro shorts because of the price but I'll probably get a few more pairs of these and keep my Attack shorts for winter riding when I'm not sweating so badly.

Oh, and on the way home today, picked up some PI gel gloves since I finally wore a hole in my old ones and a pair of custom Oakley Jawbone sunglasses. I wasn't 100% on the looks but they look ok on me and felt great on my afternoon ride. The fact it's so easy to swap out lenses is a plus too. Next on the block will be a new tire. my 200 lbs and 110* days means those tires don't last long on the pavement - because I know it's not from my mad power skillz.

I would pack like 6 of those 16g's, they are only worth about one squirt, and an MTB tire is gonna take 2 in all reality.

Also got a Fizik Aliante which so far I'm liking better than my Toupe, have a rival group in the mail, and a cable and housing cutter.

Possible New Purchase

Hello guys,

Im not sure if there is a more appropriate thread for this but I am thinking about pulling the trigger on this Bianchi. The seller wants $575 for it . It is a 2001 Bianchi Brava. Can someone give a newb some advice on if this is a good deal. I have done some research and it looks like they sold for 7-800 new in 2001.

Thank you!!!

I bought a used saddle from a guy in town for $25. Selle Italia Flite TT. 165g.

I've only gotten to do a 5 mile ride on it, but I needed some kind of saddle, which is why I bought it. The one I have on my mountain bike is just too wide, and not very comfortable. I put it on my road bike to give it a try. If that doesn't work out I'll throw it on my mountain bike, which is weird because its a TT saddle, but anything would be better than the WTB saddle I've got on it.

I think I got a pretty good deal. It was kind of an impulse purchase to replace my current race frame which is no longer usable.
