Perhaps a more frightening question is how much does your bike really cost? Especially for those of us who have "upgraded" our rides.

I may never really know. All I have is a platform/postal type scale and I have not found a way to stabilize/weigh a bike on it.

That may be a fun/scary project to undertake. I spent a good portion of the lockdown on my phone buying new/upgraded parts. If there was any component, from bearings on up, that could be lighter or higher performing, I bought it. Sometimes multiple times. I’ve got way more money in my bike than I could ever get out of it.

$100 on Cinelli-branded Bianchi Dino toe straps? Check. $100 for a titanium rear axle? Check. $300 for Dura Ace 25th Anniversary brakes and rear derailleur? Check and check.

The weight stated here is the weight before I am carrying it out from the dealer and load it down with pedals etc.
Btw, with pedals 7.71 Kg

Well yes when bike manufacturers speak of bike weights. They don't include pedals. I just acquired one of the lightest out of the box 20 inch folders ever made. The Dahon MU SL. It's 19.4lbs they claim. I weighed it without pedals. But still with a rear fender on it. And it weighted 19.74lbs. With pedals. Bike computer. Bell. And a kick stand I added. It's now 21.3lbs. Still the lightest bike I've ever owned. If I added lights that would be another pound of weight.

But everyother bike I've ever owned would be 23.5 to 26lbs under the same conditions. My first folder weighed 31.5 pounds lol. Just the pedals weighed more than a pound each. It felt like riding a tank compared to the Dahon.

You were called out in the folding bike section of the forums for declaring that your bike is the "king of folders", it's not, that it's the fastest, it's not, that it's the best quality (it's an older model Tern Verge on the recall list of bikes that were proven to be defective), it's not, then victim blaming the people who had the frame failures & basically stating they abused their bikes and are at fault, when it was proven that Tern locked out their own forums and tried to hide the problems from everyone (there's a few threads showing the bikes and injuries in the folding bike section). Then, you were constantly putting other members down, insulting them, when their opinion was different than yours. Telling them they just "couldn't afford" the "excellence" that the Tern Verge X11 is. There's more, but that's for others to look up if they're bored.

Here's the closed thread: https://www.bikeforums.net/folding-b...g-folders.html

Have a wonderful day y'all...

I had a similar thread:

It was remarkable how some folks evaded ...

I'm holding a grudge, but you're spewing misinformation about others... Gotcha. And we've done the same with you in the PM's. As you were...

Get over it. I stated my opinions. You didn't agree with it. End of. You are quick to pass judgement but fail to see your own failings. That's the problem with people like you. The truth is I titled that thread the way I did because I knew it would wake up fragile egos like you. And boy did it.

If I want to rattle the cage. I rattle the cage. If I want to be Johnny Humble. I will be Johnny humble. Now whose TERN is it?

Let's not ruin it for others here. I stated the facts, especially since I'm not the one who called you out on price...

When I was younger, I dreamed of a sub 20# bike. I never got there, but was close. Now I fear it's too late and I wouldn't be able to eek out the performance that a ultralight bike can deliver. Nowadays, my bikes are likely 25-35 lbs out the door.

You need this beauty

19.4lbs out of the box. Without pedals. I'm gonna make it 19lbs with pedals. It's fast like greased lightning. And hilly Purley just got easier.
