Vintage norco bike
Hi ! Today i bought a vintage norco Bigfoot for only 30$ CAD. Judging by the fork i think its a 84 or 85. Am i right ? Is this a steal ? You can see the picture on the album on my profile

Can't see any pics or album. It's a fine price for a well-made tank. It's also exactly what I paid for mine.

I thought the world champion stripes were on Norcos from '85, as also seen on my Magnum tourer. It has a sticker on the lower seattube, "Japan 1985"

I always wondered which year had the stripes. I also have what I think is an 83 with upgrades. Stem is .833.

I would have gladly paid that price just to get the Bullmoose handlebars. Other parts would have been useful for my projects also.

Sure they did. One of our encyclopedic minds on the list is expert @T-Mar who's is not active these days. He's compiled a comprehensive list of Asian Serial Number Guide in the stickies at the top. Components are date coded of course but they usually precede the model year by one.

It looks like a Taiwan made Dodsun. From the guide...'format appears to be DSBMymmxxxx(x) & DSym mxxxx(x) ".
So mine starts with a 3, likely made in November 83, released as an 84 model. It follows that yours was made in June of 84. Perhaps component dates will give you a clue as to the model year.
