I have since poured over all of the pictures the Seller sent, zooming in on every detail, trying to read every name or number, researching what I found to see what I bought - and alas, cue my wife's (and now Merziac's) wisdom, if its too good to be true - well I didn't get full Campy '72 Paramount for $500, and my but honey - I had to act fast voice before someone buys their
n-th Paramount when I only have one and we will be soooo close on our Spring Break Trip...
I take solace in the mismatch of parts that do seem to be there and further satisfaction that I could later change the build specs without feeling guilty or remorseful of changing anything to an original spec classic
the good:

the good:
- '72 Frameset fork and Campagnolo Headest in pretty good condition - less the incorrect head badge
- a nice Brooks Professional
- Campagnolo front Derailleur
- Maybe some high flange hubs, not 100% sure from the pics...
- Its going to be a nice day in Denver later this week and I plan to ride it
- Not original Nervar Star BSA Crankset wtih a 52/38 Chain Ring Set up
- 3TTT 95MM Stem and what appear to be Matching 3TTT Handle Bars (not currently installed)
- Some sort of "Aero 27.2 Seatpost" Not original - but will do

Isn't the crack just in the cable guide?
Either way another reason to check well before buying (which I often forget.....)

And to state the obvious: it's (another) re-badged Vitus 979, second one of these with Bertoni branding posted in this last month!

Matrix is what became Cromor after the Trek lawyers sent their "cease and desist letter" to Columbus.

Could be, but I can't see the screw that would hold it in place....Glued or pressure/pin fit?

Don't beat me too hard. I have never seen a "quality" Ted Williams in the flesh....
This is a Sport Racer. I can't see if it has 531 sticker and/or Made in Austria sticker. Lugs do look cool. I do admire the idea of it being made of aluminum and then there's the BS pricing "$150$5,000".

For the Williams above.
Driving me mental as I couldn't find a photo "head on" of the head tube. The photos I've seen of this model show really cool looking lugs.
Not sure if these were the 531 frame, Campagnolo equipped bikes I recall seeing in old ads.
Curiously, the old ads I saw look very similar to this one. Clearly the seatpost has been replaced - looks Sugino or Leprade not campy.
The oddity to me is that crankset. Original ads show what looks like the same cranks. Cranks should have been campy I believe but was campy still making cottered cranks in the '60's???

Also just happens that the sliver-gray plastic (only color I ever saw for these guides) is fairly close in appearance to the aluminum BB shell of Vitus 979s.
I had a spare guide floating around in my spare parts bin for awhile, if it's still there I'll snap a pic and post it.
