1978 Zieleman Type Special
Hi all,
I acquired this Zieleman in 2008. It is a 1978 frame. Ko Zieleman was an Amsterdam builder. Ko is the grandpa of sprinter Dylan Groenewegen.
Recently I rebuilt it with 90% the original parts it came with in '08. The cockpit with Mavic stem and the non-aero levers are some changes I made.
I do like the colour. It has a nice, deep gloss.
Mavic stem >>>
It is French diameter stem I suppose. It is one of few I were able to fit in the steerer. The steerer has a label mentioning 'Sterzo Rinforzata'.
Specs
Nuovo Record hubs, mechs, headset, cranks, BB, pedals, brakes, levers
Super Record 1st gen seatpost
Mavic stem, rims
Simplex retro friction shifters
Brooks Professional seat
Cinelli Campione del Mondo bars
Avocet tires

Super nice work, and that paint is hypnotic - almost drinkable, it's so liquid!

What a beauty.
A shop I raced for many years ago had these available on a very limited basis.
Very nice riders and handsome.
I believe the shop still has a Zieleman track bike hanging around from the ceiling tempting me.
Thanks for sharing.
