Tire clearance is pretty generous on this one, isn't it? I'd bet this is a good 650b conversion candidate if that's your buyer's thing, and the front/rear rack mounts are a big plus for that.

Yeah, if it were 1-2cm shorter, I’d be all over it. Ticks a lot of boxes for a fat tire commuter/distance all-arounder.

I thought I had deleted the album: https://goo.gl/photos/GiNjLLpLL4nAWHqW6

The original sticker says 4130. No mention of double butted tubing or anything.

The album shows the original $25 frameset with the stuck bottom bracket cup and no headset. This frameset was my first or second attempt at powder coating a frame, as well as adding a few braze-ons.
The rear brake bridge allows a 700 x 35 or 37mm tire to clear. A 700c X 38mm will gather grit on the bottom of the rear brake caliper and grind away at your new long reach TEKTROs. I thought MAFAC Racers would improve things a bit, but no joy. (.... and I just might - maybe - could be - have a set of MAFAC Racers for sale!....... maybe.......)

I believe the serial number pointed me to a 1984 Nishki entry level model sport tourer. As for myself, this frameset really kicked off my classic & vintage bodgery, as you can see things getting increasingly out of hand in the photo album.
The problem goes on today, as I've not got a Schwinn Super Le Tour 12.2 (lugged, made in Japan, rides really nice with a proper set of wheels) that I keep spending more money on it. At least I've temporarily quit spending on the Miyata 1000. But I'm rather keen to build a 2 spd kick back hub for that one. And maybe a generator hub!?!? Maybe !! And NEW PAINT! I'd love to get the Miyata painted fresh!!

Someone help! My wife lets me go at it as it's cheaper than most other hobbies (golf, boat, sports betting), or a mistress. And it keeps me from turning into A Big Fat guy.... And there's the fact she's just awesome.
cheers!

4130
