1983 Trek 970 Build

Recently completed 1983 Trek 970. Haven't taken it out yet. 56 cm. I would prefer a 58, but this will do. As it sits, the bike is 19 1/2 pounds. No pedals, but I think it could be lighter with a saddle other than an Avocet Racing. This goes along with my 1977 Trek TX900 and 1981/1982 Trek 950. Curious to see what is the best ride. So far, the TX900 is leading...

Nice build, classy bike. I have a 1978 Trek TX 900; I like it a lot as well.

What a great Trek. Is that the original paint? If so, it really shines! I have a 1983 630 - it's a sweet ride.

Yes, that is original paint. It was grimey when I got it, but it cleaned up nice. The decals are showing some wear, especially the down tube Trek decal.
