Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I have a nice little Lezyne Road Drive pump for the two bikes that can't fit a frame pump. It takes FOREVER to fill a 700 x 28 tire.

I actually carry a very small crank Bros. Pump in my bag. I pump a tire up enough to seat the tire bead and finish filling it with CO2. of course if I use CO2 out riding I deflated the tire at home and pump it up with air . Because it will be lw in a day or two anyway

You need an inflator that takes UNTHREADED cartridges, typically they have a “base” that screws into the inflator.

Here is a pic of mine. Brand is “Hurricane” but there are others.

That looks like one I found some time back but have not been able to find since. I also run those 12g cartridges because they are so cheap. I hate how they went to the 16g threaded ones to make them more exclusive and expensive. For a 23c and probably a 25c tire, a 12g is plenty to get you rolling again.

Who is "they"? You must really hate the companies who also make and sell 20g and 25g cartridges?

How long before we devolve into the discussion about leaving empty Co2 cartridges on the side of the road? Ready GO!

A little more than $1 (US) per cartridge.
