Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I hope to be done a little faster than that. I'm going to work in stages - hopefully I'll have the two upper cabinet walls done within a month or so. I'm done with the broad strokes of the design, currently laying everything out in SketchUp. I'm starting to go cross-eyed from staring intently at the screen all day.
You should do a beaded inset on the cabinet doors and drawers. Ask your wife about that, and see what she thinks.

I had mine in the 70s. Beside stuff breaking, it was hard to get parts and when you did find them they were double what Chevy or Ford parts were. I sold it to a manager at an IH dealer and was happy to see it go.

Who knew the west coast states contained so much public land?

Asbestos gone. Lots of rotten sheathing and we insulation and a mystery: Where’s the brick? This was a freaking brick house!

Weird that $100 apiece doesn't seem all that extravagant anymore. I was just reminiscing about peak brunch in Portland, OR earlier today, how much good cheap food there was. This one was pretty tasty, I had to order both of the specials:

True, I can remember when $100/couple was a very nice meal. Now when the two of us just go out to a neighborhood place and have a drink or two with dinner, the bill is about $100.

There are times when I enjoy a nice meal and am willing to pay for it. Christmas dinner fit that bill this year since we were not at home. My wife was surprised to see the $600+ charge on the account when we got home, but it was a really nice place, the food was very good, we had a nice bottle of wine, and I tipped about 30% since it was Christmas evening and the service was exceptional. I also reminded her that it would not be out of the norm to spend close to that on food and drink to have family over for a nice dinner at home.

I have an elderly couple I care for. They adamantly refused to get the vaccine. Of course they both caught the virus last month, they went to see a quack “covid specialist” in NJ who took cash only and put them on a wacky regimen of vitamins etc.

I suggested they should get the vaccine in 1-3 months. They still refuse it.

Sigh.

I heard ROATE is a tested first word. Haven't tried it yet, nor have I tried the longer words.
