NOS Bianchi Specialissima build. 1977

Hey guys, I purchased this frameset over a year ago from someone on this forum. Plus it was on EBay. It's a 77 Bianchi specialissima. Love this thing. Great shape.. NOS Frameset, wheels, shifters, brakes, cockpit etc. Probably one of my favorites!
Here are some pics and a video that like video.

That's not a 1977 frame. Based on the serial number, it's March 1976. BTW, during this era Specialissima was the frame designation, referring to the Columbus SL/SP frame. The Specialissima framesets would then be built up with different component configurations to create different models. The 00.5.11 model designation was for the Professionale model. So, depending on how era correct you want to be with those components, the majority of them post date the frame.

There are so many Bianchis on this forum and lots of nice ones. Many times though I feel like some go a little overboard with the Celeste matchy-matchy…saddle, bar tape, tires, cable housing, it just gets to be too much. This one though, so nice. Saddle color picks up the hoods and side walls. Love it. My compliments to the chef.

edit: Flip that front wheel around so the Mavic decals match up 👍

Agreed but you have to keep in mind that Bianchi was the worst/best at it, some came with pump, seat, bottles and cages in celeste from them.

Seems like most of this era, 76-82? maybe came with black seat, bar wrap and cable housing in black or blue so they weren't necessarily the worst offenders, sometimes.

Very nice.
Why the unconventional cable routing? Do you do that on all your vintage bikes?

LOL. I get a lot of crap over the fact that I put my cables in front of the bars. I do it because its cleaning while your riding. I know its not for everybody.

Thanks
