The word on the street is it's here. In English and in HD. However, you do need to signup 1st. I did signup before but now I don't remember my info and I can't retrieve it or signup again because the security image is a smudge. I don't think it's on my end as I tried changing the display properties.
Let me know if you have any luck.

by the way, even though I really like the idea of torrents so I can d/l the full race and watch it whenever (or for the memories )... ummm... well, I found live feed.
Basically, because I'm a Flames fan and they're playing the Sharks (NHL), I was poking around and found this: www.myp2p.eu
I'm currently watching STREAMING, HIGH QUALITY coverage on.... drumroll.... VERSUS.
So, basically, this may be a source to get streaming video during the actual race, if it is broadcast. I wouldn't know however, just a guess - right now I'm quite content with the Flames vs. Sharks broadcast. Ecstatic, actually.
take care.

My login still works HAHAHAHA suckers. The membership list is not available at this time, however, which may be an indication of the 'fresh' and 'working on it' status of the site. I also see no links/areas to send out invites at this time. When I do, I'll give notice and PMs will be sent.
No cycling torrents just yet - I think word is getting out that Demonoid is back up. It's catching a lot of people by surprise. A good surprise. Patience.

Paris-Roubaix:
The only thing I've seen so far (and currently simultaneously grabbing & seeding) is a large 3+Gb file for the last 4 hours of the P-R race via a French Broadcast. Apparently the commentator is Fignon!!
This is good if you can understand French fluently, of course.
It's at the pirate bay. Search "paris roubaix". No live links, sorry
BTW: UCI put out a document a long time ago that is a small 4 page list of cycling terms translated between English and French. Available here, under "Other Publications."

By the way, if any of you manage to grab the 3GB Paris-Roubaix 2008 broadcast (the French one, being seeded in various places), a few notes:
-You'll need to burn it onto a DVD formally (video_ts folder and all). Once you do that, it can play on your computer, of course, but also in your regular DVD player.
-This has to be the *best* coverage I have ever seen of a race. Even if you don't speak French, you may agree:
Cheers!

- The coverage includes live reporting from a dude on the back of a motorcycle that is tailing the lead group, which is really great. You can even hear his voice being jostled over the cobblestones even though he's riding on a motorcycle with suspension! Just think of what the racers are going through.
- Includes commentary from Fignon (okay, you'll need to understand French for this part, but it's damn good stuff)
- Commentators are *really* into the race, and it definitely shows through regardless of language. They're really passionate about it and it makes it even more exciting. It's something like the difference between watching a US broadcast of soccer/football versus an English(UK) broadcast of soccer/football. It's that much more.
- Probably the most gorgeous shots of the race and countryside I have yet seen. Maybe this was due to the weather, or the camera crew, but seriously: this is fantastic stuff.
Cheers!

It really doesn't make sense that you have to burn it in order to watch a file that is already on your computer. Thanks for the lead on the vid though.

New to this torrent thing... Tried to download Overcoming from BitTorrent yesterday after reading this thread but it didn't work. Checked Wiki and they note:
The effectiveness of this data exchange depends largely on the policies that clients use to determine to whom to send data. Clients may prefer to send data to peers that send data back to them (a tit for tat scheme), which encourages fair trading. But strict policies often result in suboptimal situations; e.g., when newly joined peers are unable to receive any data because they don't have any pieces yet to trade themselves or when two peers with a good connection between them do not exchange data simply because neither of them wants to take the initiative. To counter these effects, the official BitTorrent client program uses a mechanism called “optimistic unchoking,” where the client reserves a portion of its available bandwidth for sending pieces to random peers (not necessarily known-good partners, so called preferred peers), in hopes of discovering even better partners and to ensure that newcomers get a chance to join the swarm.
I think this is why my download didn't work - Is there some way to get around it?

This is 100% false. If you download any movie with in just ripped format like that video_ts and all you can replay that directly on your computer without burning - powerdvd has the ability to open dvd movie on harddisk.

I burned it onto DVDs for friends that don't grab torrents. They enjoy it, plenty - especially because they can watch it on their regular DVD players & set ups.
