Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Everyone looks weighed down. Did you pre-hydrate?
Of course. Plus, we each had 3 litre bladders of water and 24 oz of Gatorade. Plus, lunch and protein snacks. Hydration was not a problem. Oxygen was.

I was also carrying a heavy camera.

Are you a go on SS? The one thing to note is that while everything here is cheap, it’s all going for cash.

My buddy had a fit kit at his brewery for our jersey orders from Eliel and the medium was super snug and short on me. I’m 6’ 170#

NYCAP... or Boulder/Longmont or Raleigh. If it's NYCAP it's looking more likely for Ballston Spa or Malta - AG's likeliest on-site career there would be GloFo, which she took work trips to back in her AMD days before they were spun off. Those two are on the Zim Smith trail that connects to the Empire State Trail, while SS isn't. We won't have the slightest idea until EOY when she fins out what nVidia's plans for her team are, though.

As for cash, I'm surprised, since it looks like houses are hanging around for a luxurious-seeming couple of months. Fortunately, we're lucky enough that if that becomes an issue we can get a loan from the First National Bank of the Parents and "refi" after closing.

Crushing hard on this one, though of course it'll be gone by then.

Or either of these:

https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/4...32438499_zpid/
https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/1...53747709_zpid/

Especially that first, which is literally on the trail. From both I might not be able to see a neighbor.

B-Spa is nice. I like the village and my kids go to those schools. If you ever plan on having kids, I wouldn’t buy on East Line speedway. You can get decent 2000+ SF houses in Luther Forest in Malta for mid 3s. It’s a great neighborhood. There’s also high point and travers meadows all close to GloFo. From Luther you have pretty easy access to the Zim and Washington County empty roads are close proximity. Can’t recommend it enough.

We made it home last night safely. Too tired and too wet for a homecoming ride. Plus I have to put on my big boy pants and get some work done. I am sure there are several hours of messages and other work that piled up in my absence.

Still, it’s good to be home.

After giving bam an early morning 100mm, I got in a quick ride in VA armpit weather. 1.5 bottles of water in 18 miles - I already know that velo velo does not approve. Still dripping. Ick.

Close. NYU was an option but still a decent bill. The free ride offer was with Temple.

Neither do I. Prices were already ridiculous then in the last year or so they exploded into the absurd.
The last house I lived in with my parents is in a neighborhood near here. Houses there are listed @ $850k. How is that possible? How can working class people qualify for an $850k house?
My parents sold that house for $26k in 1972.

Correct. No reason to drink under 20 miles unless there's serious climbing.

Assuming a 16 week period, your "chump change" would be $48,000 a semester.

Try riding at 95 degrees with 20% RH. You need to drink so you don't end up coughing up rubber cement.

I think that it was between 75-80⁰ while I was out, but the humidity was 90%; between that and a reasonably hard effort, I had rivulets of sweat pouring off of me.

Enjoying a burrito with some Icelandic hot sauce from greenhouse peppers smoked over sheep dung, which daughter and husband gave me for my birthday. Not bad, I must say!
