The thing makes the boats under spin look like they are stuck in the mud.

Really wanted to go spin around for a couple hours but it's windy, 35 mph gusts near home and higher at the bike path. Plus, it's in the 40s right now. Meh.
I guess if I want to ride I'll be on the mtb again. Decisions.
Hate to be a weather wuss.

How do you think I bought the Madone?
Not to mention, that is the bottom of the barrel airline.

As y'all may remember, I'm a big fan of vintage watches, and of course, a child of the Space Age, so I think it's really cool that Bulova is producing an homage to their original Accutron Astronaut series.
There's just one thing that bothers me. The WHOLE POINT of the Accutron was that it was so advanced, that it was the first watch in history to do away with the balance wheel. So, what does Bulova put in their Accutron Astronaut homage?
A mechanical movement.
That would be like Shimano doing an homage to the original ST-7400 brifters, but making them friction shifting instead of SIS.

They're $3500 a pop, so I think it's more that the target audience knows, but cares more about the appearance of the watch than the guts. Me, I'm a guts man.

Pittsburgh might just be in the process of becoming a superfund site. Sad!

2nd Edit: My mistake. I misread the post I quoted. Full disclosure.

I'm in a similar situation. Overcast ands 43º with 16 mph. winds. Everytime I walk out to the driveway, I say, 'nope, not going." But then I look at the trainer and think maybe I'll give it another hour to see if the winds drop a few mph and the temp goes up a degree or two. Not supposed to do either but there's always hope.

Now, I really need some help from you guys, so listen up!
My titanium commuting etc. bike came with a ******, ugly, crank and paired BSA standard BB, which I switched 3 or 4 years ago to a 6800 crank from another bike and a new matching BB. Within a year, the thing was groaning under load and could be temporarily quieted with PTFE tape on the threads. Initially the tape would work for a few months, but ultimately it only lasted a couple of weeks. So, I bought a new 9100 BB and all was good for a few months, until this week when that one began to crackle.
Back when this started, I emailed the builder who said they use PTFE tape too and if that’s not working to take it to a bike shop. I wonder what a shop is doing to do, face the shell? Any other ideas? A better thread treatment? Tape it up again and sell it?

If PTFE tape temporarily stops the noise, the threads are moving and opening gaps. PTFE is very soft and easily suffers cold deformation. You could try Loctite 222, which is a low strength removable thread lock or maybe a copper filled anti-seize. Facing the threads may help with preventing the motion, but if the frame threads are oversize to begin with, there's not much you can do.

And in particular the Speedmaster Professional, the original moonwatch, the first watch to qualify for manned spaceflight BITD? You can get anew one for a little less than twice the price of the Bulova.
