Show your Bob Jackson
My Bob Jackson project is nearing completion, I'm adding the bar wrap this afternoon and going out for a 20-30mile ride. I'd like to see more of this make and my search didn't come up with a thread for this great English bike co. Feel free to show off your Bob Jackson / JRJ here, pics are welcomed!
Mine is a mid-1970's Bob Jackson Audax, full Reynolds 531. I bought it as a frameset with an EDCO Competition headset installed this past summer. I spent the past 6 months slowly collecting parts for it and enjoyed building it up this past week. I tried to keep it true to what it would have been built up with in its day. I took it out for a 10 mile shakedown ride this morning and it's just great.

This was my 1976 Bob Jackson for all of 2 days, until I discovered the cracked BB shell-lug. Local seller gave me my money back. I was sick to my stomach when I found it under the paint. It was my size and I liked the color combo. Darn !!!

I bought my Bob Jackson World Tour new about two years ago, but it is vintage style with lugs, lug linings, and threaded stem. I commuted on it for two years, but the frame is currently hanging on the wall while I accumulate parts to make it a full-bore tourer. The frame is rather stiff for daily riding but it should be perfect for loaded touring as its made with a special Reynolds 631 tubeset designed for carrying loads.

That's a stunner tarwheel! I was | | this close to going for a new Bob Jackson when mine popped up for sale. If I ever have to replace it I still would go for one. I think they're a fantastic deal for the money. Where are you planning to tour? Any ideas yet?

Here's my 2000 Special Tourist the day I bought it. "Special" because it was custom ordered--amazingly the guy who sold it to me is my height and has the same inseam, so it fits quite well.
Day after Thanksgiving ride with my wife last year. I know the stem extender is kind of fugly, but my back, neck and shoulders love it. I have a Nitto Tallux to install when I have the time.
Current set up.
Dirt. It gets used.
On an urban club ride.

My goal is to ride across the USA, but that might have to wait until I retire. Until then, I will probably use it for shorter tours -- long weekends or a week at most.

Thanks! That's a 105mm, 25.4 clamp GB stem mated with 445mm wide Randonneur handlebars. The stem is @ max extension from the steertube , I insert a minimum of 2" if the stem is not marked with a minimum insertion line.

Here's another shot of my Bob Jackson World Tour, rebuilt for loaded touring. I added a triple drive train with lower gearing, Brooks B17 saddle, and Tubus Cargo rear rack. Plan to add a Tubus Tara front rack as well, so I can use front and rear panniers. The second shot show the bike loaded for my shake-down tour, but I realized after loading that I needed front panniers to balance the load better. The bike was essentially unrideable as pictured.

Picked up this 1980 Super Tourist from the original owner last week while vacationing in Southern Utah. He pedaled ~20K miles on it, but it's in great shape and the price was more than right. I put it on a Greyhound and anxiously await its arrival!

There was a 70s frame on ebay last week that I was considering bidding on. It was poorly advertised so it was hard to find. It went for 125$ and was in good shape. I wonder if anyone here got it.
