So that's where we've been headed. I was just following the group. Good to know there will be music when we get there.
Long trip before you get there.

Man that's a great song. She actually could sing but has no interest. She's a badass artist that won't sell her stuff.

Good on you. I visited one in 2015, while looking for a place for my mom. All I could see were wild-eyed 16-year-olds wondering what the hell happened.

I did five years delivering meals to seniors and now occasionally play music to them. It's a privilege to share a bit of their end of life experience but it also informed how I was going to live the rest of my life. I think my life is way better for the experience.

Music is great for folks with dementia and communication issues. Some memories are hardwired in distinct areas of the brain and last longer than others. Good on you for the service. I volunteer in a thrift store as the greeter/donation receiver/carrier of purchases to the bus or car. I particularly enjoy the interactions with the elderly regulars and have learned quite a few interesting life stories in the process.

When I trained meals on wheels drivers I used to tell them to pay attention because in this job you see the future. Figure out how you want to spend yours.

Easy parking, although a resident did knock my bike over. No harm no foul.

Glad the resident didn't knock over your tele!

GET OFF MY LAWN!
I use the same rig every Thursday night for a hotel gig where I have sax, bass and snare, but this week I was smoking a cigar on my leisurely ride to the gig. I laid the half smoked punch cigar on a planter outside the hotel so after I dropped my stuff off I could go back out and finish it. When I got back outside some bum had smoked it. So the lesson here is if I can afford a cigar my life is good. If you have to smoke someone else's used cigar, it's not as good.

That whole album is gold, one of my favorites -- I bought it for my parents several years before they passed away, and they really enjoyed it.
What I want to see is the '52 Telecaster, though the Raleigh Pro city bike is a treat, no doubt about it.

My 52 is a reissue but it's from 98 and I bought it new. It's had two refrets and a ton of abuse. I'll take pics eventually. I'm on a bike camping trip in my tent right now.

Thanks for playing gigs at the senior center. My mother was in assisted care for 5 years, then full skilled nursing care for 5 years before she passed from Alzheimer’s. I spent a lot of time in both settings and it was astounding to watch people, my mother included, who had severe memory issues, yet they could sing along in perfect harmony to the songs of their youth. It was obvious that the senior residents really enjoyed going to listen to live music gigs and I also enjoyed going to them. Good on you 52telecaster

Great stuff, 52telecaster. I've thought about doing similar over the decades, but I'm 71 now, so the security people would probably just try to walk me back to my room.

Should have done it long ago. I have near-perfect recall of the lyrics and chords to easily 100 big band songs of the '30s and '40s, together with lots of '50s and '60s easy listening and rock and soul music, but few of the people who remember those songs are still residents of senior centers.

Trust me, they would love whatever you play. They remember songs their parents played as well as songs of their own youth. I had one lady ask for cocaine.... J.J. Cale version. Also if I do something like ain't misbehaving it goes over huge too.
