-Suzue Pro-max sb hubs laced to open pros.
-Sugino 75's
-Bikeworks NYC straight blade, nitto stem and threaded headset( I actually already have stem so i will prob do this anyway.
-Wait for some vintage campy hubs to pop up on eBay and blow my bank on them.

Let me know if you have any better recommendations. !!!

Both the wheelset and the drivetrain are good... but bank on doing a rear cog as well and upgrade to a 1/8" drivetrain all around.

Get them wheels. Vintage Campy is nice. Know what's nicer? Brand-spankin-new wheels also designed for professional riders but using modern cartridge bearings. And they're new!

My front hub just came in but my black ano OP looks like it's a week or two out (this is what I get for buying an unused black rim off a guy for cheap...now I can't match it for crap w/o going special order). Can't wait to outfit my new bike with a truly nice wheelset.

See how it all comes back around to me?

Drinking, and smoking are no particular help to my riding. I quit smoking, and suddenly found I could climb the hills without dieing. Then the more I ride the less I care about drinking. Plus I prefer a good Bourbon to some fancy pants Single Malt Scotch any day. The way I see it the less time and money spent drinking and smoking, the more time and money spent riding. I'm certainly not super jock, or a Mormon or anything. I'm sure Don could probably beat me in a sprint even if he DOES have a few years on me and enjoys "the finer things". I just find I feel better after a good hard ride than I do after a night of drinking and smoking. Call me crazy. I'd definitely recommend ANY bike parts over drinks and smokes, but that's just me.

Just yankin' your chain about the advanced years Don, you don't actually have that many years on me, although perhaps a significantly larger percentage of them were spent cycling. I agree that cutting loose from time to time is a good thing, but for me smoking is never a part of it.

I started smoking cigars when I was 17, then went to a pipe, then cigarettes. I rolled my own, and most people thought I smoked little enough that it wasn't a problem, but climbing 4000' on the Long Trail one day convinced me different. </hijack>

my wheels are fine as they are. I think i may go with the sugino 75's and then buy the promax hubs and wait to build them up until january. The price would sort of be the same. ...

Don't buy the cranks.

Track cranks are just a waste of $$, and you will see no performance improvement whatsoever.

i don't know how much you have to spend, but i upped my drivetrain and wheels. campy bb, w/ miche primato crankset, hi flange miche hubs, ma3s.

1/8" front and back, wheels are stiff and responsive (32h, 3x), everything feels really right, [i]totally[i] silent.

cost a little over four bills total, before selling the old stuff.

frame and seatpost are all that remains of the original bike

i'd definitely buy the sugino 75s. **** it, they are great cranks, take track chainrings, look good, and, yes, i'll be that-****ing-guy, they are njs certified.

i am very impressed with the crankset. it's a miche chainring on miche primato cranks, with the hubs as mentioned. the whole thing feels extremely solid and tight, and as i said it's a totally totally silent drivetrain, which i like very much.

various individuals on the forum sold me most of the parts (thanks roscoe and dave), and brad at trackstar put everything together very precisely (thank you too).

very happy with this set-up and thoroughly recommend it.
