Dynamo lights and early Blackburn front rack. 8 speeds in back and it's quite nice. I may go with at least one bar end.

It was specced with 27s so it has a bit more room. I actually own a 73 competition and super course. They are wonderful riding machines.
This morning I removed the bottom bracket on the Olympic and it was in decent shape but I am installing an idle grand Crue crank and bottom bracket. The bike is getting significantly lighter.

putting on new cranks is great thing to do. Not only lighter weight, but lower gearing. With this 52-42 cranks we all rode, makes me wonder how my knees survived. Even more important with my advancing age and decreasing physical abilities.

That bike looks very nearly identical to my 86(?) Raleigh Marathon, also with the 575sl triple-butted main tubes. I'm not exactly sure how these two compare in Raleigh's line up? Only differences I can see now being that my shifters are on the stem, and the rear dropouts don't have that little spacer screw. I haven't had it for long and am too new to cycling to talk about ride quality; it seems decently lightweight, but is still a couple pounds heavier than my similarly-sized Lotus Classique. That bike is all Tange #2 and Shimano600, I'm too lazy to strip all the components so I don't know if the weight difference is in the components or frame.

I think this it in the 86 catalog. I had to look hard into the image to see that the color isn’t actually gray….honestly, it still looks mostly gray but the color is labeled “Sugar Plum with White trim”, I think it must be yours.

The fit, finish and general durability of these bikes is terrific but they don't feel snappy like a full 531 frame. I should build this back up for someone who would enjoy a nice bike.

I agree, it’s plenty nice but you’ve aquired quite a wonderful collection of bikes that are even better. I’ve found that I need to get better at asking myself if the bike I’m looking at is a bike I’m really going to ride and get the most out of. It’s a pretty frame; if you do part with it, someone would love to have it as a regular rider.
