Yeah, this guy apologized for the comment weeks ago. I did some calculations and figured that if they set the CO2 emission tax such that it amounted to $1 per gallon of gas, they'd get about $1 per 16,000 miles of cycling, or about 30 cents per year per relatively avid cyclist.

I have alway thot that when someone get elected to office, they take them into the back room and stick two straws up their nose and suck out all of the brain cells that have to do with common sense, logic, and fiscal responsibility.
BTW I am a republican and know something about science. Since a bicycle is the second most efficient way to move weight, the cyclist is actually emitting less CO2 than if the person walked or drove a car.

We must cease all athletic activity immediately in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Hockey, soccer, football, rugby, tennis, squash, all skiing sports, all running sports, anyone caught jogging or hiking will have to pay a tax to offset the cost of the greenhouse gas emissions.
Bowling, darts and all board games are ok. But they will be restricted to 1 breath every 90 seconds.

I thought it was a mistype, and what he meant to say was:
BTW I am a republican and YET I STILL know something about science.

This idea is about as brilliant and some Mayor in Washington state that wanted to or did ban bonfires on the ocean beaches to help prevent global warming. There must be something in the water in Washington state that causes brain damage in b'crats.
