Anyone Use A Suspension Seatpost?

The redshift suspension seat post is delayed until June. Initially it was supposed to roll out this month. The date was pushed back to "early 2019." Now to mid 2019. I'd rather see them get it right rather than rush it's release.

Also, the Chinese Ergon knockoffs seem to have disappeared from eBay.
The eesilk looks good. No reviews of this product.
For whatever reason, suspension seat posts aren't especially popular.

I have one of these on my road S-Works, and one on my gravel bike.
I went with this which Canyon uses on their upper end bikes since the Ergon is no longer available but quite a few copies are out there with good results from what I heard:

The redshift looks a lot better though. Who knows, maybe there's another delay in production and the thing doesn't debut until 2020?
I'm very interested in the Roubaix: futureshock and the lowered seat post clamp+ elastomer seem to be very effective. I'm hoping one of these seat post designs will be enough to prevent me from going all in on a $3.5K+ purchase!

The delays are disheartening, but I would rather they get it right the first time than be stuck with an obsolete prototype.

I dont get it
Yeah, I put in 1 class higher (stiffer) elastomers than recommended for my weight and nearly maxed out preload. The saddle tilts and arcs backward; that's what bothered me. It felt like I was constantly sliding off the back of the saddle. It's a very unnatural feeling and very inefficient for pedaling.
Mine was when they color-coded density .. black for my 220 pounds purple was denser yet.. blue , for lighter
being round cylinders, you can stiffen them by not letting them get wider .. adding a hose clamp or some metal tubing around them
(Hose /Jubilee ..clamp a Brompton suspension block stiffening trick..
ST there is a bold dial ..arrow indicating 1,3,5,7,9, 9 the densest, 1 the softest.. I barely notice it moving using the 7 ( have the other 3...)

I use Bodyfloat on all my bikes. Works very well and I wouldn’t ride without one except on my road bike. Definitely takes all the bumps out and makes for a much better ride. A lot less jarring.

Thudbuster on bike in Alaska, Kona rove
, mix of road/gravel riding
... But...
been getting beat up on the SoCal roads this year,
gonna bring it to SoCal next time. Test on
roads here, they are rough & cracked ( every crack
is a mini speed bump ... & there’s
many many cracks ) :-(

Awesome. :-) That's the nice thing about disc brakes: you can run a wider tire.

For the Bodyfloat, I use them on a hybrid and on an ebike. I don't feel they reduce efficiency at all, or even if they do, I can't tell. You can get them to move if you bounce on them, but mainly they just soak up the bumps and make things a lot softer.
