Lots of little rides the last couple of weeks. Dodging the rain showers.
Today’s showers were so light as to almost be ignored. Just a couple of pics, due to the damp.
Spring is springing
Clouds and sprinkles (liquid sunshine) are what PNW is so famous for - in play today
Son took this pic of the Mondia Super at the end.
Glad to live in a place with little lanes (as opposed to proper streets). You know - the narrow unpaved 'road to nowhere' with a few houses somewhere along there….the flowery trees show many of them so well. And the bog is turning green too. Still too chilly for Spring smells.
edit: I probably should have brightened up those first 2pics for clarity, but thinking about it, there was no sunshine = Delivering True News from Seattle Eastside foothills.

Finally had a chance to take the Kona Explosif for its first real ride: 43 miles on mixed surfaces:
Overall, it felt great though as @bikemig warned me, my wrists are sore from the angle of those bars. I have an alternative in the works.

Today was a beautiful day, I suppose, if it were set in New England or Canada or if it was January but can't say it was ideal spring riding weather. Winter is hanging on with temps in the 40's and a cold knife edge wind without a hint of warmth or blossoms. Set out for 20 with an option for 30, which I did not exercise.

It was mid 40s here in the Boston area for my ride with a bit of a stiff NW wind heading out and a nice tailwind heading back. Mostly sunny, which really warms things up. It's not exactly Tucson weather, but really not bad for this time of year. I rode yesterday, too, in similar weather. Tomorrow the high is supposed to be 32F and low around 20F; I need 45 more miles to get to 400 for the month and that's gotta happen tomorrow and Tuesday, given my meetings/teaching schedule. I blame American Airlines for denying me that 45 miles in sunny and warm AZ!

We had beautiful weather in the Portland area today. I rode with @gugie up the Highway 26 Bike Path to the Zoo, but because some very obviously not ept mechanic (me) changed out his crank bolts without tightening them my crank arm came off just after we hit the peak of the hill and so we became the first people ever to do a reverse Zoo bomb -- rode up the hill to the Zoo, then took the elevator down to the underground MAX stop and took MAX into Portland -- taking MAX to the closest bike shop we could find near the MAX line. The Trek Store in downtown Portland (formerly Bike Gallery) gave me a new crank bolt, tightened both crank bolts, and had us on our way in no time. From there we crossed downtown and made our way to Highway 30 across the St. John's Bridge, back to downtown Portland and out Barbur and Multnomah Boulevards to our starting location.
You may have heard, most laws don't apply within Portland city limits if you're on a bike.

I went out for a local ride with Thomas. I flatted seven miles out, ending up with a decent size hole in the tire. Had to boot up with a granola bar wrapper. I wasn't real confident in pushing on, so I head home.
Thomas however, was good with it. He said his friends were at the park a couple miles away, so we parted ways and all was good. I made it home and went shopping for tires.

Good weather had another Puget Sounder out and early season meant without great ambition. But trying a bit for endurance so that translates to fewer breaks and pics ( coasting still permitted).
yesterday, I mentioned ‘little lanes’ so I did stop today for a pic of the concept for urbanites.
maybe I will start a thread………
not today’s pic but I was riding a favorite cockpit. Which must include Cinelli paired with Campa 9/10sp from a few years either side of 2000. The Batavus is nice too, especially on roaming days.
