Bianchi Volpe, 135mm O.L.D?
I'm working in a Bianchi Volpe. This is a steel framed bike with cantilever brakes. It was marketed as a Cyclocross bike, but it's more of a sports/touring model.
This bike has vertical rear dropouts and fits a 135 mtb/hybrid hub with room to spare.
Was this bike sold from the factory with 135 hubs, or did someone respace this frame?

I only know that it’s 1998 or later. The 1997 model year had horizontal drop-outs

i've seen a 2007 with horizontal dropouts. 1 1/8 headset and 8spd.

Very likely it was factory spaced at 135 if it was newer than '95 or so. Hybrids standardized at that spacing by then and the Volpe was still being marketed as a hybrid until ~2000 when cyclocross started being a buzzword.

you may be right about that. i wasn't sure (still ain't) and did some digging around. i suppose even set up OEM with road shifters they'd still spec a 135mm hub?
