Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I went to check the paint can... and there's paint covering the front of the paint can, so I don't know for sure. I think that it's Benjamin Moore Advance, either Semi- or High-Gloss.

Too late for you. At this stage of your life, I advise semi-retirement. Work half-time and ride/play with bikes half-time.

Don't know whether to laugh or cry at the impossibility of that.

Interesting choice of alternative monetary units.

Bummer. It's my goal, and I am hoping it's possible soon.

I could even fully retire now, but mrs datlas is not a fan of living in squalor.

Anybody use those LED ribbons under their cabinets? I'm wondering how effective they are as task lighting...

Squalor? Isn't that just down the road from Penury? Or, given where you live, perhaps "Pennury".

Not ribbons, but LED under cabinet fixtures. Works for task and aesthetic lighting.

College was cake. If you have daughters, it’ll be the wedding cost that does you in.

We have a daughter getting married later in the year, and the cost is approaching the total cost of her four years as an undergrad. ☹️

Makes for much less maintenance though. The S1 doesn't even have brakes anymore.

Yeah, we had some halogen fixtures and had planned on going with LED of similar form factor, but going lower profile is appealing.

Winds in the 30s to 40s again today, so hiking activity completed. It was nice at river level out of the wind.

Ouch. I though my child support was bad at 1k a month. still, I've only got another 8 years of child support to go. maybe I can buy a new bike when that stops.
