Your Childhood Bicycle Pics

So turned 55 the other day and sis sent me a card with these photos, probably the earliest one with a bike. It was my uncles and obviously too big, I remember that it was purple with a foot brake and that I used to ride it by pedaling through the main triangle.
Sis on the left, bro on the right, dad holding me up, Austin 1800 family car, outside mums parents house - James Street Brighton.
Anyone else have their childhood bicycle pics?

I'm pretty sure I posted this on some other thread too...

I'm the one who is obviously not related. The other three were siblings who lived across the street from us.

Nice subject. I spent a fair amount of time on bikes in my youth, but I just realized I don't know if any pictures exist. My dad always used reversal film in his camera and subsequently has an attic full of boxes with slides that I haven't seen for at least forty years. I'll need to ask him about that.

These are most likely around 93-94 or so.
My mother took all but two albums, so Iv only got these two from what I have left.

Such great pics! As adults we worry about size within Cm's. As a kid it was just a blast to ride and feel the freedom.

I have a late childhood photo, me and my 1964 Legnano (and Dad's old Plymouth). I was about 15, a not very good junior class racer. Still have the bike. I'm on the right.

My mom found this picture and sent it to me recently.

I'm on the 1969 Schwinn Apple Krate (took all my savings at the time to buy it). Not sure why my little brother has a pogo stick rather than a bike. This must have been around winter 1971-2, as the following year I bought my first 10 speed, and lil' sis' is big enough to have a bike.

I don't have any pics but if I did they would be of me crashing. Had balance issues as a child, still haven't grown out of it.

Nice thread! Love the C&V kid pics!!

Santa Rosa, California. My first bicycle, a J.C. Higgins, received on my 9th birthday. The most memorable gift of my childhood!

Both of these photos are from 1966.
I'm giving a ride to my little brother in one pic, and riding my new Western Auto 3 speed in the other. I must be getting old...

I remember seeing Paul Weller a few years ago now and his guitarist had a pair of those shoes.

Sometimes you have to make do with what you've got.
I'd imagine we are being looked at collectively in the same way.

The closest one is a '66 Olds F85 and the on behind is a '64 Pontiac Grand Prix. They were my grandparent's cars, they were both visiting that day.

I knew I had a pic around somewhere. It's a pic of a pic so excuse the lousy quality.

BMX Trophy shot at the Hinkley/Big Rock track way west of Chicagoland. I'm sitting atop my beloved Team Mongoose circa 1980. Built from the frame up to the tune of over $500 which was all the money in the world to a 14 year old back then. Did a lot of racing around the Chicago tracks back then... Good times.

Since I just found these photos for another thread.

Taken at my Grandparents' house in South London (Battersea) England. The first one probably in 1963 and the second probably in 1966.
