Cyclist apartheid
Seems to be a lot of hand wringing about freds and why hate freds and let's hug. Well I'm all for hugging a fred but uniting all cyclists is going too far. I hate commuters.
For the first time in years I went out riding early in the morning. I started heading back just as the traffic got bad and with all the jams, even cyclists got held up. It was then that I realised just how cycling commuting has really exploded. All sorts of bikes, all sorts of people.
The only thing uniting them was the miserable gormless expression on their faces and the agression of their weaving to get ahead of one more car. They even shoved past me because I was waiting behind a truck with a couple of other noble spandex clad early morning exercisers. We say good morning to a couple of them and they sneered at us.
Enough of the hand wringing about fred this, poseur that, road nazi the other. We recreational cyclists are better than commuters.

i just hate everyone with a nicer bike than me...
j/k... since i'm still a newb, i really don't grasp the entire "fred" thing yet... i see a couple on the trails and streets... but i figure they're just dudes with a hobby and alot of money... but... lack the passion of the hobby.. you get me...?
this to me is a secondary hobby... so i don't spend $texas amount of cash on it, and don't see the need for anything more than 105 and stock wheels...
but...
the only thing i do hate are the idiots that walk in the river trails, or have dogs, or take their brat arse kids...
