Brake Levers Do Not Fit

bought some touring bars, but they measure about 0.925" instead of the normal 7/8"

snapped one dia compe lever trying to stretch it, filed the second one so at least i have a front brake til i figure this out.

any ideas on some levers fort this set of bars/ thanks!

I'd guess those bars have bike grip diameter.

Some bars are available in MTB and road diameters:

0.925" = 23..5 mm or, within measurement tolerance, these are 23.8mm road bike bar diameter. 7/8" = 22.2mm or MTB bar diameter. You tried to install MTB sized levers on a road bike size bar.

next question, does anybody make MTB type levers for road bike diameter bars?

edit: i suppose that the old pair of sun tour levers in the attic might look funny but work,
maybe not with cantilevers, we will see

edit: reading sheldon's brake articles-do not respond to this post for 30 days

edit: fenders prevent yoke cable from locking up front wheel when main cable snaps

So do reflector brackets, or even a loop of string. Rear brake too.
