Usually at the Shell station or near it, this time they might start on the other side of the fwy. I'll post again later in the week.

So I may start up the hill and come back down to wait for the others but some are starting at the bottom and everyone is welcome to join.

We had no trouble with traffic on Saturday. We only went as far as Dawson Saddle, but it was strange having cars on that section. All the drivers were pretty cool and by the time we went back down, there was hardly anyone.
Oh, yeah, every time I go up there I remember that time when you stashed water for us on the other side of the gate. That was very cool.

I was there and all the way through to Wrightwood Thursday the 21st. Few cars. And the reports of the weekend were that it was not crowded.

I rode from Wrightwood to Dawson Saddle last Saturday, and traffic seemed on par with or slightly lighter than a normal summer weekend.

Hi!,
May I ask a few info on AC to Wrightwood?
I've tried Descanso to Mt Wilson a few times and Encanto/Sn Gabriel Cyn/East Fork/GMR.
How's the ride from Sn Gabriel Cyn Rd/East Fork Rd corner up to ISLIP/Dawson? Distance, elevation gain, road condition, and safety?
Thanks!

That's about 25 miles with about 5000' of gain. It is a relentless climb. The road is in good shape except near Angeles Crest where it is a little rough. It's always closed to cars at the top and the lower section has been closed for a couple years. No water along the way unless you drink from the stream.
Up to Dawson adds about 6 miles and another 1000'.

How does it compare with AC from La Canada?
