White and Green Mountains Bicycle Tour Summer 2005
In the summer 2005 I toured for 11 days in the White and Green Mountains of New Hampshire with 7 friends from the Southern Tier Bicycle Club of Binghamton, NY. Here is a pic of my fully loaded "loaner" Miyata touring bike and BOB (front) and my friend Karen's Cannondale 2000 and BOB. Will I use a BOB on my next tour? No... next time, it's racks, panniers, and my new Surly LHT touring bike. I have also included a pic of bluesref's "loaner" touring bike - a 20+ year old Specialized Expedition with Rhode Gear panniers. An oldy but "good enough" set-up. Bluesref has just purchased a Cannondale 800 touring bike for himself.

Surly LHT touring bike
Here's my new Surly LHT touring bike. So far, it's great - I have been commuting on it this week with just one rear pannier and the handlebar bag. Yeap, same panniers (oldies but goodies) that are on Bluesref's loaner touring bike in the photos from my last post. I am really looking forward to touring in the Adirondack Mountains / St. Lawrence / Lake Champlain region of New York State this summer. Reg

got this bike for $15 at the local awesome thrift store. sold it to a friend and regretted it immediatly. final got him to trade/sell it back because it just sat around. need to replace a front wheel he had to give away though after accidently smashing our friend's.
needs a better picture taken eventually.

The really cool thing was they requested an honest review, and if I didn't like them, feel free to say whatever I honestly felt about their product. You have to admire a company that doesn't want a schill, but an honest eval, eh? WOuld I buy them if I'd had to pay for them? Yes, I will be buying replacements from them when they eventually do wear out! (Everything does, you know!)

Did 109 miles on this ride. Was an accident; left the computer at home. Red tape is for coffee, black gets just water. I have a BOB for loaded stuff...
Love this bike.... = )

Here is a photo of my Tandem that I have just gotten ready for short tours with the Missus.
We were supposed to go out overnight this weekend but the weather turned nasty and I am determined to try and make the first tour a pleasent experience so that she might want to do it again.(I live in hope?)
