Race coming soon
Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum and I would like to talk to you about how it is possible to train for an ironman and what times are possible to achieve. I'm training every day and I still see a margin for improvement, except that by next year I should face an important race. I'll update you continuously because I would like to receive more... Some advice well... Thank you

"♫Too much, too little, to late to ever tri again♫"....
Put a rest day in there every so often. What time can be achieved is a very personal thing. The good thing about such long, steady effort events is that commitment and determination are as important as pure talent and ability. Go get 'em.

GR — As a fellow triathlete myself, if you want more discussion about triathlon, I’d advise you to seek out a triathlon-specific discussion forum on a triathlon website (not the triathlon forum here on the BFs). Yes, it is a triathlon forum, but what little discussion happens in there is usually geared more toward triathlon bikes, their maintenance and setup, and riding in triathlons. I’m not saying you can’t post there, or that you won’t get a response(s). But there’s just not much traffic in that forum.

On what triathlon forum do you post?

One of those responses is from me. But…I don’t really have a tri forum that I go to anymore. I call myself a triathlete, but in reality, after doing them since the inception of the sport in my early 20s, I’m not doing tris for the past few years now. I’m 62 years old and had to have a hip replacement a few years ago. And now, just had a total knee replacement Oct 23rd. So, I’m not really able to run anymore. Consequently, triathlons are pretty much outta the question. But I do still swim a lot, and obviously cycle too. — Dan

Aren't there different length of triathlons? Or more to the point how far are the cycling legs in the races you're aiming for? I have to ask because I'm not one of 'those guys' and don't know any better.
