Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Shimano Ultegra Flight Deck Hood Covers

Hi all,

Wondering if anyone can help me find a replacement Shimano Ultegra Flight Deck Hood Cover - these were discontinued long ago but are similar geometry to most modern day Shimano shifters as far as I can tell. But I am aware they are very specific due to the slot geometry, height, width, depth, angle etc.
The old hoods had perished and I cannot find a replacement anywhere - have asked many bike shops and scoured eBay.

It would seem that I've got no hope of finding a true replacement, but if anyone has any creative solutions for using a similar hood cover which they believe is similar geometry or perhaps a generic non-shimano cover... Or perhaps I could heat shrink something onto them?!

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks

G

May be of some help. Read down a ways, the thread gets into hood replacements..depending on the series of Ultegra you're running.
