Ron's Parts Bin
This aim of this thread is to share and showcase selected folding bike items in my parts bin. The parts featured here are not necessarily the 'best', highest quality, lightest, most interesting or top performers, or available worldwide. They are nothing more that parts that I bought to suit my own particular personal purposes in my locality at the time of the post. Prices are the purchase price that I paid for the item in my locality.

Litepro KFun rim-brake 451 wheelset
$63/set
As the masses increasingly favor disc brakes, real deals can be had on rim-brake parts.

Nice looking tire. How supple is it compared to the old Greenspeed Scorcher?
Something a little narrower to easily fit on a Brompton is a plus.

No, it's not that at all. Money is not the issue. The issue is that some of us live in an area of the world where we have a lot more product variety and offerings, often at lower prices than comporable products elsewhere. I really have no need for the Scorcher which got its reputation when 451 options were fewer in other, less privileged parts of the world. Folks really do need to get out more and join us in the year 2022. For my part, I've got more good 451 tires that I can actually care to use.

The Greenspeed Scorcher do not exist in ETRTO451.
This tire was developed by Greenspeed for their race trike Aero that has ETRTO349 wheels front and ETRTO406 wheel rear.
The concept of this tire is a slick, high pressure, 40mm wide, lightweight tire.
There are several versions of the Scorcher with different construction.

Shimano SLX CS-HG81-10 cogset
Ten-speed, 11-36T cogset in continuous use for nine years+ across three bikes, four countries, five chains and six tours. The thing still looks virtually like new.

Shimano Zee RD-M640 derailleur
The Shimano Zee derailleur on its seventh year of continuous service since 2016 across four bikes still shifting crisp and on the dot. Scuffed and scratched but none the worse.

Are they local to Indonesia?
I've many stuck to Kenda for being cheap and good, but they don't have that many tan wall options on the usual Lazada, Shopee platforms here in Singapore

Kenda does offer a tan wall 451 tire here...
Innova itself offers, these 37-451 jobs here too. I'm sure you can get them in SG.

Decaf 11-40T, 10-speed cogset
I've been wanting to push the limits of the Shimano Zee dereilleur beyond its nominal limit of 36T max cog. Regrettably Shimano makes no 10-speed, 11-40T cogset, so I took the plunge with this Decaf 10-speed, 11-40T job for $19.🤞🏽

I've been among the very few early adopters and conspicuous users of Litepro and FnHon parts on this channel since 2016. Since the beginning questions have been asked about the long-term durability and reliability of these parts. I can say without hesitation and nearly without exception that those fears, often hysterical, exaggerated, xenophobic even, were unfounded and simply not born out in practice and reality.
My initial Litepro part, a 2016 purchase, still in service and in perfect operational and physical condition in 2024.
Today the likes of Litepro are featured on such blue-blood, aristocratic bikes like BF. People even defile and desecrate the holiest of holy, the hallowed Brompton with these parts. A practical, real-world example is this FnHon handlepost which is now on going on its fifth year across two of my folders, and remains tight, taut and rust-free. $35 buys you one.

I see you have extra grease in the folding mech, and I can understand why. Being in a tropical environment, this will ensure that the steel parts don't rust. I'm by the ocean, so I'm now inspired to follow suit. Very smart thing to do.
