Mine are white. They were on sale. That's why I wear white. If black were on sale, I'd have bought black.
Turn a fast enough cadence to create your own a/c, if you think black will be too hot in the sun.

I buy whatever I can get a deal on. One of the most knowledgeable cyclists I know swears by the brightest shoes possible. He feels when you are at a cadence of 80-90 and a motorists sees how fast your feet are moving they are less likely to pull out in front of you. Because they get a better sense of your speed. I can't prove or disprove his theory but, if I have a choice of 2 exactly the same shoes I would probably lean towards the brighter ones.

I am curious about the choosing of shoe colors. I personally ride with white shoes for one simple reason, they were on sale for a song. Mine have seen their better days so I was trying on some new ones at Performance the other day. I heard another patron talking to his buddy while they were trying on shoes. One of them stated that they never ride with black shoes because we live in Florida and they get too hot. Has anybody else found this to be true?
As a runner, I have always worn colored shoes. I grew up in Florida and played H.S. and College Tennis and wore colored shoes. I have never heard that they make a difference as far as the heat goes.
Sorry for the lame thread but I am a few weeks out of hip surgery so I can't run or ride and these things stand out for now. Personally, I do not pay much attention to the shoe that I wear. I just go with the best shoe for a great price. If it was pink, and it was cheaper, I would probably buy them.

I have these, the white/orange sidi kaos... because orange bike. And I much prefer the look of white shoes to black, so I never really considered black/orange.

I just bought some sidi wire push carbon speedplay specific shoes.
I would have preferred black, but they only came in white.
But at least they were outrageously expensive.

THATS RIGHT! I hope everyone else here know's that everyone already laughs at us when we fly by on our bikes. We mind as well were our jerseys inside out and our helmets backwards, people won't laugh more!
Side note, I wear white shoes, my feet can get cold here in Wisconsin, but I don't think that is because of the color of the shoe.

White. Got them for just under 70 bucks including the Active Junky 10% back. Couldn't pass them up.

I have a pair of black leather Diadora's from the early 90's. They look newer than my white Shimano R088's did after 6 months. The white mesh will never look white again, and the vinyl (or whatever) straps turned yellowish.

The keeper of the cog at my local velodrome says white is king; all other colors are less than.
That said, no one seems to pay much attention to what he says.
Last year I got a phone call from my LBS.
"Black or Red?"
"Pardon?"
"Pick a color, Black or Red?"
"OK...Black."
Later that week my wife surprised me with a pair of Sidis...black.

Thanks! I think they're real purdy
the color in real life is a good bit more neon than Vol orange, and this troubles me because my bike is slightly more intense than Vol orange, but still less intense than the Sidis.
