Not Dr. Cannondale, but I'll give this one a shot.
Shimano says that Hyperglide was introduced with Deore XT (M732 series) in 1987. But I think the 600/Ultegra 6200-series predates the introduction of Hyperglide. Not sure when Hyperglide was introduced into that product line, if ever.
In any case, if you're looking for a 6-speed cassette I'm fairly sure that would be Uniglide. I believe Hyperglide was introduced at 7-speed; I don't think Shimano ever made 6-speed Hyperglide cassettes (I could be wrong).

If the hub uses the later freehub design (freehub held onto hub body by fixing bolt), then per the late Sheldon Brown a freehub transplant that replaces the original freehub with a HG/UG or HG-only freehub is feasible.

If your 87 Super Sport has the original Shimano 600 wheelset, then yes, a freewheel such as that would work.
That particular freewheel, however, has a lot of tooth wear on the 20 tooth cog (note wave shaped wear between teeth) and possibly others as well.
Not unusual to find that one cog was used more often than others, and someone like pastorbobinnh might be able to find you a replacement, but perhaps not accurate to characterize it as 'lightly used'.

I got a reply from the seller which was interesting: I asked if he thought that freewheel/cassette would work on my 1987 Schwinn Super Sport. His reply was," If your bike has a 6208 rear derailleur (look at the back of the derailleur, it will say RD-6208 VIA Shimano Japan") then no, it will not. The 6208 is a short cage and maximum rear cog size is 26 Tooth. I remember the Super Sport. I was actually working in a Schwinn bike shop in Austin Texas."
I actually don't have the 6208 rear derailleur on my bike. I have a newer 9 speed rear derailleur thanks to Dr. Cannondale that works flawlessly on that bike.

I thought I remembered looking this one up once before recently, and I was correct.
If you were using it with a 12-28 freewheel and a 52-42 or 52-40 front crankset, you'd be within Shimano's published specifications for the RD.

But, I digress. What derailleur do you have? It's fairly easy to check max capacity / max cog for it. And, what is the final goal? Bringing the bicycle back to 87, components - wise or just replacing the freewheel / casette? If you have 9 sprockets at the back, that would mean you have a casette. Look for Shimano Sora HG50 9 speed in whatever cog sizes you prefer and you're set. You might want to replace the chain whilst you're at it (KMC X9 or Wipperman Connex 900 for example). If you want to take the bicycle back to the late 80's, that would mean replacing some components.

@VintageSteelEU My remark earlier about bringing the 1987 to original specs was innaccurate. My bad. The bike isn't with me at the moment, but its got a SHIMANO 9 speed RD and the rear wheel has only 6 cogs. My mechanic dialed in the shifting though so it shifts smoothly into all 6 gears. My goal ist to get a 28 tooth gear so I can comfortably climb some hills around here. I think the biggest cog is a 24 tooth currently. The wheelset I bought on ebay a few years ago is sweet. I've got pics somewhere, I just have to locate them.

Again, not really possible to give you definitive advice without a pic, but assuming the threading is English, you can just slap on Shimano MF-TZ500-6 speed 14-28T freewheel and call it a day. Providing of course all goes well, the current freewheel comes off easily etc. Depending on the clearance between the smallest sprocket and the dropout you might be able to use MF-TZ500-7 speed. The difference between shimano 6 and 7 speed is 2.4mm. If you have enough clearance, I'd probably go with 7 speed freewheel. In any case, you will need to adjust the rear derailleur (especially if you're going for 7 speeds) and it might be a good idea to get a new chain as well (or at least clean thoroughly the current one if it's been replaced recently). You can always keep your current freewheel and chain as spares.

DRIVE TRAIN
7-SPEED
STOCK WHEELSET
I actually have a 1989 Schwinn Tempo, all original, 7 Speed road bike with Shimano 105 components. It's in very good condition. The paint has some chips and scratches. I'm going to take pictures of my bikes tomorrow when I get home, and post them here.

ISO: French thread headset locknut & spacer.
Headset on my bike is Stronglight, but I don't really care much about the brand.

ISO a few clean parts for a first generation DuraAce build:
Shimano clamp on shifters by bj.stevens, on Flickr
Thanks.
Brad
- Headset - English threads, UA100(?), black ideally but silver is ok
- Seatpost - 27.2mm - something appropriate for a first gen DuraAce build. Doesn't look to me to be a specific DuraAce seat post at that time.
- Down tube shifters - I have a nice silver DuraAce set (NOS?) but would like to have them in black. Here are a couple of pictures of the set I have:

If you can't find a trade or just the locknut/washer, you might want to check the C&V Sales subforum. If I recall correctly, at least two French threaded headsets were listed there for sale earlier this month. I believe at least one is still available.

Is yours it an alloy A-9 (or steel) and what size spacer do you need (or is it a washer with flat)?

Hah! I just hooked up a guy (local in the East bay) who needed some Stronglight A-9 parts for a Peugeot job, so I did not have a spare locknut/spacer in that box but might have one elsewhere.

ISO Lyotard Eng thread right pedal spindle..
The spindle of the right pedal of a pair of Bethets I've got is (annoyingly) bent. It's my understanding that a spindle from a Leotard 45 would work....
Thx!

EDIT: initial search has resulted in zero: neither a FR top nut (tho I was fooled by a couple but they failed the test) and surprised I don't find a single washer with flat! But I have another bin I can check later this week.

Looking for a wireless gps bike computer. Garmin edge or something of the like with a small screen for a map. I know it's not exactly fitting here, but most of what I have to trade is C&V and I know a lot of C&V riders used modern computers. Anybody got a decent one sitting around doing nothing? I have tons of stuff to trade, willing to make it worth your while.
