I wonder if getting the cut-out was a mistake? I got it mainly because the Selle Anatomica has a similar one, and it seemed like a good idea. (I don't have pudendal nerve issues unless I ride a hideous gooshy gel saddle.)

I put the Aspen cutout back on my bike (again) about a year ago, and only recently it is starting to bother me, which makes me worry that it is more me than the saddle.
Solour (or galibier if you get titanium rails) is 146mm Aspin is 157

partially reforming a saddle?

Can one partially reform a saddle, the narrower parts that get usually laced up? My B66 is starting to flare.
If so, how is it done, just wet the part that need it?

In my experience once a leather saddle has started to sag, it's permanent. Look at it this way. Have you ever seen an old pair of leather boots restored to their original stiffness?

On my old Brooks Pro that started to sag and flare, I punched some holes at the bottom of the skirts and pulled them in with a leather thong or nylon bootlace--I don't remember which. That also firmed up the suspension in the middle. Some saddles, such as the B5N, already have holes, presumably for the same purpose. Eventually I just switched to plastic saddles.

Thank you, appreciate the reply. IMHO, I don't know how relevant the comparison is. The saddle is still quite stiff and AFAIU, old boots don't get soaked and get reformed with shoe trees and the like.

thanx again,
later,

Nick
