26" retro-ish tires ?
Over the weekend i brought home a 1990 Bridgestone.
The tires were wretched so upon getting it home, i tossed on a set of Smoke Classics in 26 x 2.1 (the only size they currently make ) and got some tire rub in the back . Anybody aware of any tires that fit the bikes purpose? 26x1.9 ish or 2.0 ? Tan walls preferred for a vintage machine, but at this point im looking at anything.
BITD i had one of these bikes but used Ritchey Z-Max'z which were available down to 1.7" , however, even the Smokes were available in a 1.9" and the combo to run was a 1.9 rear and a 2.1 front . I've posted on this bike in the C&V section but not much yet on a possible lead on tires

Continental has a few options in the 26x1.9-2.0 range as well. Contact Speed and Double Fighters come to mind

THANK YOU ! If those swift tires were in stock, they'd be on the way now -- as it is, the Sim Works stuff is a little pricy, -- but -- shoot, you only live once also
I spent 3 hours today searching through the usual haunts (JEnsen, Comp. Cyclist, etc. and had no luck except for a scattering of wire bead commuter appearing tires, or tires that looked a bit too wide and "extreme" (Minions still available in 26" due to the large number of DH orienmted bikes still in service )
Again thanks ---

Those tires have some burly side knobs. Is the contact at the sidewall or knobs? I have trimmed side knobs off for clearance with a good sharp knife.
