Ok 10 weeks post surgery. Still doing PT twice a week and riding around 5 days a week for usually 20 miles. Speed and power isn't back yet but I can pull off an 18 mph avg over the route with a hard effort. Started clipping in about a week ago. The stability in my quads is better each day but still far from normal. Some things I've noticed is that the quad still does not like walking at normal speed. Quad feels tight and every now and then seems to give out for a second. No real pain just not firing right. The same thigh does not like walking downhill either or on uneven surfaces. My none repaired knee hurts a lot worse hour to hour. A mild ache in the repaired knee that's getting less and less noticeable. PT was a hard workout yesterday and the knee ached enough last night that I put back on the ice machine because I couldn't sleep. First time in a week or so that the pain bothered me sleeping.

I'm age 81, I had my total knee replacement 6 weeks ago (Medacta GMK Sphere). I have rather short legs and limited knee Range Of Motion. So I can't ride an old stationary bike or my road bike on the trainer (both have a forward leaning position). But at physical therapy I can ride with some warm-up their recumbent bikes (more body weight supported by my back). Now I'm doing a lot of walking. Last Saturday I did a 5 kilometer run/walk in 52:50 min. (or 16:30 per mile). I never was a fast walker. Still can't go down steps leading with that leg. Can only do about a 4 inch step.

Now I'm riding the old stationary bike. My exercise equipment buddy came up with modifications.
Good leg. one inch pedal block and tight toe strap.
Bad leg. just loose toe strap.
Not perfect, but I can ride for a half hour.
