1979 De Rosa
I finished building this bike right before Christmas. The roads are too dirty around here. So the ride report will have to wait till spring. I have a Coppi, Colnago, Pinarello, Gios, and I like them all. They are each subtly different. I'm sure I will like the De Rosa, and I'm curious to see how it compares. For me, one of the joys of collecting is enjoying the theme and variation among makes.

Congratulations to all of you on these great bikes!
My favorite DeRosa was built in the fifties or sixties and is my size... but since I doubt it will ever come my way I'll settle for any DeRosa I can find in my size that was built before the era of investment cast lugs. As long as I'm composing my wish list it might as well already have some patina because it won't spend all its time hanging up in the garage!

that anniversary bike is attractive, there was another maybe later at some point with retro graphics. If it was not in Silver I would have considered it.
I have enough silver bikes. no more.
I owned a Primato at one point, sold to another BF member, was a tad big for me. The EL-OS tubing was reasonably stiff and light, I replaced it with a Masi 3V which kept the Masi theme going.
A '73-'74 DeRosa would be fun, but no purchases this year I think.

Your bike was built for the German market. At the time I was working for the largest German distributor of De Rosa bikes (Radsport Wetzel in Frankfurt) and I might easily have been the one who put the initial order in for this bike. The tires with those extra-long valve stems really detract from the look of the bike. Whereas the De Rosa spec called for teh century gruppo that you have on your bike, most of our customers in Germany preferred the regular finish. Most customers also ordered the white leather bar treatment.
