Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

'Sup Larry complained when I told him he'd have to wear a shirt to join our C&V ride, and now he says he might lose his job over refusing to get vaccinated. I'm tempted to tell him "No shirt, no shot, no service".

We had a good ride. It was below freezing for the first hour but roads 99% dry and small ice patches were easy to avoid. We had 9 riders and kept the pace modest and consistent. I hit 7k miles for the year.

It’s 57° here but damp and windy. Instead of riding, I’m relaxing for a couple days and embracing the holiday spirit. Merry Christmas!

Radar looks to be showing rain will be over in about a half hour, might have to go out for a short spin in a bit.

We are having yet another gorgeous Winter day. Feels like it's around 80A. Zilch for humidity. Blue skies. Light breezes. My efforts today are in the wood shop. I hope to go out for a longish off-road ride tomorrow.
Edit: Tomorrow's weather promises to be exactly the same. As do the entire months of January, February and March. We bask for these few months, and pay dearly for it April through October. It's so perfect that it's sometimes hard to believe it's really happening.

I think that it was in the low-to-mid 40s for the ride this morning, but the sun has come out and now I'm wishing that I could get out for a little more.

Today it's about 50-si, but breezy. Clouds sliding across the sky, occasionally. Took Rango for the walk he's been dying for the past 3 days when it was raining, and now he's a happy boy. It's pretty breezy, so I'm rethinking riding the Bianchi since it's the most crosswind-susceptible. Maybe the Cannondale, since it's also not steel?

We’re getting the rain tomorrow. I walked around today. Picked up some PA Dutch egg noodles for the rabbit dish and ate two delicious, freshly made before my eyes cider donuts with cinnamon sugar. #FoodCrack

Hadnt ridden with most of them before. Didn’t know what to expect. And that steep hill I’ve never ridden with a group so I hung way far back.
